Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team hosted its first home meet of the season at Walker Field House on Sunday as the Brewers garnered six victories in eight rounds of competition at the Vassar Invitational. The sabre squad put together an impressive day with a 48-15 record along with theepee squad posting a strong record of 45-18.

Round One - VC 26 - Yeshiva 1

• Epee - VC 9 YU 0
  • Junior Brian Li, senior Eli Weise and first year Harper Jamison posted perfect 3-0 marks.
• Foil - VC 8 YU 1
  • Senior Brady Traugot and first year Ethan Capra all scored undefeated rounds while sophomore Ulysses Bergel tallied two wins.
• Sabre - VC 9 YU 0
  • First year Shankar Karthik, senior Noah Rudnet and sophomore Charlie Cohen all went 3-0 in the first round.

Round Two - VC 26 - Hunter 1

• Epee - VC 9 HUNT 0
  • First years Ansel Spitler, Alexander North and Sam Sosnick each recorded three victories.
• Foil - VC 9 HUNT 0
  • First year Alexander Gobbo, first year Kahlil Salome and Traugot all tallied three wins apiece.
• Sabre - VC 8 HUNT 1
  • First years Devan McCarthy and David Sargardi Diaz posted undefeated 3-0 rounds along with Cohen adding two wins.

Round Three - VC 12 - Stevens 15

• Epee - VC 5 STEV 4
  • North posted an undefeated mark at 3-0 followed by a win each from Weise and Li.
• Foil - STEV 6 VC 3
  • Gobbo tallied two victories while Traugot also earned a win.
  • Capra battled in three bouts.
• Sabre - STEV 5 VC 4
  • Sagardi Diaz posted three victories along with McCarthy earning a win.
  • Shankar fenced in three bouts.

Round Four - VC 15 - Haverford 12

• Epee - VC 5 HAV 4
  • Weise and Li each picked up two victories along with North scoring a victory.
• Foil - HAV 8 VC 1
  • Capra earned a victory while Capra and Traugot battled in three bouts each.
• Sabre - VC 9 HAV 0
  • Shankar, McCarthy and Sagardi Diaz all posted 3-0 marks.

Round Five - VC 16 - Lafayette 11

• Epee - VC 5 LAF 4
  • North posted an undefeated 3-0 mark while Weise and Li each tallied a win.
• Foil - LAF 5 VC 4
  • Traugot scored three victories while Capra added a win and Gobbo battled in three bouts.
• Sabre - VC 7 LAF 2
  •  Sagardi Diaz and McCarthy scored three wins each along with Shankar adding a victory.

Round Six - VC 15 - LIU 12

• Epee - VC 7 LIU 2
  • Li and North each posted perfect 3-0 marks while Weise added a victory.
• Foil - LIU 5 VC 4
  • Gobbo and Capra each scored two victoires along with Traugot battling in three bouts.
• Sabre - LIU 5 VC 4
  • Sagardi Diaz tallied three victories while McCarthy scored a win.
  • Shankar battled in two bouts and Rudnet fenced in one.

Round Seven - VC 6 - Johns Hopkins 21

• Epee - JHU 7 VC 2
  • North scored two victories while Spitler and Li each battled in three bouts.
• Foil - JHU 9 VC 0
  • Bergel, first year Hanley Tapia and senior Sean Fisher competed in three bouts.
• Sabre - JHU 5 VC 4
  • McCarthy and Sagardi Diaz each tallied two wins along with Shankar battling in three bouts.

Round Eight - VC 19 - Cleveland State 8

• Epee - VC 5 CSU 4
  • North and Weise each scored two victories while Jamison earned one win.
• Foil - VC 7 CSU 2
  • Gobbo posted an undefeated mark of 3-0 along with Capra tallying two wins and Salome and Tapia adding a victory.
• Sabre - VC 7 CSU 2
  • McCarthy went undefeated while Sagardi Diaz and Shankar each tallied two victories.
