Madison, NJ - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team opened the season on Saturday afternoon at the Drew Club Invitational and went undefeated with four victories on the day. All three squads put together impressive performances with the epee squad finishing 28-8, the foil squad scoring a 27-9 record and sabre finishing the day at 23-13 overall.

Round One - VC 19 Army 8 

Epee - VC 8 Army 1

• Senior Eli Weise and first year Alexander North each posted 3-0 marks while junior Brian Li tallied two victories.

Foil - VC 8 Army 1

• Senior Brady Traugot and first year Alexander Gobbo both went undefeated in the opening round along with junior Ulysses Bergel scoring two wins.

Sabre - Army 6 VC 3

• First year Devan McCarthy scored three victories for Vassar while first year Karthik Shankar battled in three bouts.
• Senior Noah Rudnet competed in two bouts along with sophomore Charlie Cohen competing in a bout.

Round Two - VC 24 Clemson 3

Epee - VC 8 Clemson 1

• First years Harper Jamison and Ansel Spitler each posted perfect 3-0 marks along with classmate Sam Sosnick earning two victories.

Foil - VC 9 Clemson 0

• The trio of Traugot, Gobbo and first year Kahlil Salome all scored three victories for a perfect round.

Sabre - VC 7 Clemson 2

• Shankar tallied three victories along with Cohen and McCarthy each picking up two wins each.

Round Three - VC 16 Rutgers 11
 
Epee - Rutgers 5 VC 4

• Jamison scored three more victories while Spitler earned a win.
• Sophomore Christopher Garfield Siebert competed in two bouts along with North battling in one.

Foil - VC 6 Rutgers 3

• Traugot and Gobbo both recorded perfect 3-0 rounds while Salome fenced in three bouts.

Sabre - VC 6 Rutgers 3

• McCarthy finished with an undefeated 3-0 round along with two wins from Shankar and one from Rudnet.

Round Four - VC 19 Drew 8

Epee - VC 8 Drew 1

• North and Weise each scored an undefeated round while Li picked up two wins.

Foil - Drew 5 VC 4

• Traugot and Gobbo tallied two wins apiece while Bergel competed in three bouts.

Sabre - VC 7 Drew 2

• McCarthy and Shankar each finished impressive days with three victories along with Cohen earning a win.
