Men's Fencing Places Second at Matt Lampell Invite

Brewers score six victories in the final home meet of the season

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team placed second at the Matt Lampell Invite on Sunday afternoon in the final home meet of the season. The foil squad led the way with a strong 47-7 record in six rounds as the Brewers only loss was to eventual champion West Point.

Round One - VC 19 HUNTER 8 Round Two - VC 18 RIT 9
  • Epee - VC 6 RIT 3
    • Weise posted another undefeated round while junior Devaansh Singh and Barnes each earned two wins.
  • Foil - VC 8 RIT 1
    • Senior Liam Inchoco and Ryan each finished with three victories while Kim added two wins.
  • Sabre - RIT 5 VC 4
    • Berger posted a perfect 3-0 mark along with Cohen tallying a win.
    • Junior Justin Lederer battled in three bouts.
Round Three - WP 14 VC 13
  • Epee - WP 6 VC 3
    • Sophomore Brian Li earned two victories along with Fisher tallying a win.
    • Barnes fenced in three bouts.
  • Foil - VC 7 WP 2
    • Senior Benjamin Lee and Inchoco each earned three victories.
    • Bergel recorded a win while Ryan battled in one bout.
  • Sabre - WP 6 VC 3
    • Berger led the way with two wins while Cohen earned a victory.
    • Sophomore Boxiong Du competed in three bouts.

  • Epee - BING 7 VC 2
    • Weise scored both victories for Vassar while Singh and Barnes each battled in three bouts.

    • Inchoco, Ryan and Lee all scored three victories.

    • Weise was undefeated while Fisher also added three wins.

    • Panepinto Hattori posted a perfect 3-0 mark while Berger earned two victories.
    • Cohen added a victory along with Du competing in three bouts.

    • Li tallied two victories along with Fisher and Weise each adding one win.
    • Singh battled in two bouts.

    • Lee and Inchoco each posted undefeated marks and Bergel tallied two victories.

    • Berger finished undefeated in the final round while Panepinto Hattori and Cohen each added two wins.
