MEDFORD, M.A. - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team went 4-1 in conference action at the Northeast Fencing Conference #3 Multimeet, hosted by Tufts University. The foil squad and the sabre squad both led the way with records of 33-12 on the day while epee squad went 32-13.
In the opening round against Dartmouth, the Brewers took a 23-4 victory with epee going undefeated. Freshman

Eli Weise all went 3-0 at epee while freshmen
Isaiah Kim and
Federico La Rosa each went undefeated at foil along with two victories from sophomore

Oliver Berger went 3-0 at sabre while seniors

Conor Travaglione and sophomore
Justin Lederer each adding a victory.
Vassar earned another win against UMass at 22-5 as foil led the way with a 9-0 mark. LaRosa, freshman
Ulysses Bergel and junior Frank Rayn all went 3-0 at foil with Li going undefeated at epee and Weise adding two victories along with one from Plumer. Sophomore

Fernando Panepinto Hattori each picked up two wins at sabre while Berger, Lederer and Gayle each added a victory.
VC fell 19-8 in the third round against Sacred Heart. Kim recorded the lone victory at foil while Li tallied two victories at epee and Weise added one win. Berger picked up three victories at sabre with Travaglione adding one.
The Brewers bounced back with a 20-7 victory in round four against Boston University. Ryan and La Rosa each went undefeated at foil while senior
Tom Stadnikov was 3-0 at epee along with two wins by Plumer and one apiece from senior
Spencer Emerson and Weise. Travaglione was undefeated at sabre with senior
Tian Hahn winning twice and one win apiece from Gayle and Panepinto Hattori.
In the final round of the day, Vassar took a 25-2 victory over the University of New Hampshire. Bergel went 3-0 at foil while Kim and LaRosa each won twice and Ryan and Fisher each tallied a victory. Li and Stadnikov each went 3-0 at epee along with Emerson adding a victory. Berger and Panepinto Hattori each went undefeated at sabre while Lederer tallied two wins and Rudnet added a win.
Vassar will head to Columbia on Wednesday, February 15th to take part in the George Kolombatovich Historical Meet where they will take on NYU at 6:30 p.m. and Columbia at 7:45 p.m.
