Men's Fencing Tallies Two Conference Victories at NFC #1

Brewers earned victories over Brown and Wagner

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Vassar College Men's Fencing team traveled to Boston College for the first Northeast Fencing Conference meet of the season as the Brewers picked up two conference wins over Brown and Wagner on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Federico La Rosa and senior Benjamin Lee both garnered NFC Foil Second Team All-Star honors following their strong performances.

ROUND ONE - MIT 19 VC 8 ROUND FOUR - BC 19 VC 8
  • Epee - BC 7 VC 2
    • Weise tallied both victories for epee while Li and Du each battled in three bouts.
  • Foil - VC 6 BC 3
    • Lee posted an undefeated 3-0 mark while La Rosa added two wins and sophomore Isaiah Kim picked up a victory.
  • Sabre - BC 9 VC 0
    • Berger, Lederer and Rudnet each competed in three bouts.
ROUND FIVE - BRAN 14 VC 13
  • Epee - BRAN 6 VC 3
    • Li picked up two victories while Du earned a win.
    • Weise battled in three close bouts.
  • Foil - VC 9 BRAN 0
    • La Rosa, Traugot and Lee all posted undefeated marks at 3-0.

    • Li and Weise both posted undefeated marks at 3-0 while Du earned a victory.

    • Cohen, Panepinto Hattori and Berger each tallied a victory and Lederer fenced in one bout.

    • Li and Weise each earned two victories while Du battled in three bouts.

    • Lee scored two victories while Traugot and Kim each recorded a victory.

    • Berger finished the round with two victories and Lederer added a win.
    • Rudnet fenced in three bouts for Vassar.

    • Weise earned two victories while Du and Li each battled in three bouts.

    • Berger scored two victories while Cohen added a win.
