Dennis Garners First Ever Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week

Rookie took second in triple jump, fifth in 60 meter hurdles against Division I competition

TROY, N.Y. - The Liberty League announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon as freshman Jahmilia Dennis was selected as the Women's Track and Field Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 4th. The award is the first ever for the Brewers indoor program following its inaugural meet at West Point on Saturday.

Dennis had a banner day for the Brewers in the program's first ever indoor meet at the Crowell Open as she finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.94 meters behind only Army's Kalliauana Powers (11.15m).

The freshman also finished third in the second heat of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.13 and advance to the finals as the lone Division III runner. Dennis finished fifth overall against all Division I runners in the finals with a time of 9.27 at the Crowell Open.

Vassar will return to action following the new year at the Blue and Orange Invite at Utica College on January 28th.
