Miller Breaks Pole Vault School Record Mark at Red Fox River Rumble

First year breaks record from 2018 by .10 meters

Poughkeepsie, NY - First year Sole Miller broke the pole vault school record along with numerous personal-bests being set for the Vassar College Women's Track and Field team at the Red Fox River Rumble at Marist University on Friday and Saturday.

Friday Events

Shot Put
  • Senior Kolby Davis placed second overall with a mark of 10.46 meters followed by sophomore Amanda Hanrahan in third position at 10.42 meters.
  • Senior Ava Gurley notched a personal-best throw of 9.98 meters to finish fourth along with sophomore Meara Morgan turning in a fifth place finish at 9.89 meters.
  • Senior Sydney Petrie added a sixth place finish with a toss of 9.17 meters along with sophomore Elana Pukel recording a seventh place finish at 8.86 meters.
  • Senior Freja Niklasson rounded out the Vassar throwers with a mark of 7.52 meters.
Discus Throw
  • Petrie scored a second place finish with a top throw of 39.89 meters while Hanrahan posted a fifth place mark at 31.54 meters.
  • First year Anna Johnson tallied a sixth place finish at personal-best 30.89 meters followed by Morgan in seventh with a toss of 29.56 meters.
  • Gurley registered a new PR of 29.19 meters to place eighth overall along with senior Abbe Colgan earning a mark of 25.72 meters.
Javelin Throw
  • Pukel tallied a sixth place finish with a toss of 27.80 meters along with first year Maddie Delaney posting a seventh place mark at 23.05 meters.
  • Niklasson registered a personal-best throw of 16.44 meters.
Hammer Throw
  • Hanrahan earned a second place finish with a top throw of 47.24 meters followed by Johnson posting a season-best toss of 37.99 meters to place third overall.
  • Davis also recorded a new personal-best mark of 33.56 meters to finish fourth overall.
Saturday Events

Long Jump
  • First year Ruthie Weiss finished third overall with a new outdoor season-best mark of 5.12 meters followed by senior Jahmilia Dennis in fifth place with a leap of 4.95 meters.
  • Senior Jamie Eu tallied a sixth place finish with a distance of 4.86 meters along with classmate Freja Niklasson recording a jump of 4.52 meters.
Pole Vault
  • Miller broke the outdoor school record with a personal-best mark of 2.90 meters, shattering the previous mark of 2.80 meters by Julie Bradley in 2018.
High Jump
  • Weiss posted a second place finish with a height of 1.57 meters along with junior Abigail Sasson finishing third at 1.43 meters.
  • Delaney registered a fourth place mark with a personal-best 1.37 meters and junior Jillian Benfante was fifth at 1.37 meters.
Triple Jump
  • Sophomore Lianna Camille took the top spot in the triple jump with a top mark of 10.59 meters.
4x100 Relay
  • The quartet of Eu, Camille, sophomore Lainie D'Auria and Weiss raced to a second place finish with a season-best time of 49.45.
1500 Meters
  • Sophomore Elizabeth Lowe scored a top-12 finish with a season-best time of 4:50.71 followed by sophomore Hadley Snell in 15th place in a personal-best time of 4:52.73.
  • First year Cate Feudtner collected a top-25 finish with a personal-best mark of 5:11.05 along with senior Nora Goldberg-Courtney finishing in the top-25 in a PR time of 5:12.70.
  • First year Emerson Wyatt recorded a top-25 finish in a personal-best time of 5:15.93 while first year Taylor Vogt crossed the finish line in 5:25.14.
100 Meter Hurdles
  • Dennis placed second overall with a nationally-ranked top-75 time of 15.11.
400 Meters
  • Sophomore Skylar Spiro set a new personal-best time of 1:01.22 to finish in the top-15.
100 Meters
  • D'Auria raced to a second place finish with a new PR of 12.28, ranking in the top-65 nationally, while Camille set a new PR with a time of 12.65 to finish fifth overall.
  • Eu posted an 11th place finish with a time of 13.20 followed by sophomore Mason Wilkins-Lanier in 12th position with a time of 13.22.
800 Meters
  • Goldberg-Courtney tallied a 15th place finish with a season-best time of 2:40.45.
400 Meter Hurdles
  • Lowe collected a fourth place finish with a time of 1:10.20 followed by Niklasson in fifth with a mark of 1:12.13.
  • First year Perri Koo added a sixth place finish in 1:12.47 along with Vogt crossing the finish line in 1:18.55.
200 Meters
  • Dennis scored a 10th place finish with a time of 26.87 while Wilkins-Lanier set a personal-best time in 26.95 to finish 11th.
  • First year Claire Seguin tallied a top-15 finish in 27.05.
4x400 Relay
  • The relay of D'Auria, Camille, Koo and Lowe recorded a season-best time (81st nationally) to finish second overall in 4:05.84.
3000 Meters
  • Senior Lily Shimpach crossed the finish line with a time of 12:07.09.
