Fort Meyers, FL - Vassar baseball got their season started off with a 9-4 win, sparked by freshman Sam Brinster who had three hits including two doubles, a single and a walk in his debut.  On the mound captain Mitchell Mullock set the pace going five innings giving up only one earned run, striking out five and scattering six hits. The win is Mullock's first of the season.  Following Mullock was junior hurler Billy Mathiesen who went three innings of shut out baseball before handing the ball off to closer Patrick Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald slammed the door with a 1,2,3 ending including two strikeouts.
