2021: Appeared in seven games, including six as a starter ... Posted a 4.15 earned run average over a team-best 34.2 innings pitched ... Had a 3-2 overall record ... Allowed 16 earned runs on 30 hits ... Struckout 41 batters during that time frame - which ranks seventh-best in a season in program history ... Owned a 1.56 WHIP ... Had a .923 fielding percentage ... Struckout six batters over 3.2 innings against Union (4/3) ... Laid down nine strikeouts, just two earned runs on seven hits over 7.0 innings against Bard (4/23) ... Recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts, allowing just three earned runs over 6.0 innings pitched against Union (5/2) ... Went 1-for-1 at the plate with a run scored against Rensselaer (5/9) ... 2020: Appeared in two games as a pitcher and started one… Pitched 1.0 inning against Rivier, striking out one batter and did not give up a hit or run… Struck out two batters against Oneonta (3/9).

2019: Posted the lowest ERA for Vassar at 5.40… Appeared in 11 games and made two starts, pitching 16.2 innings… Had the most wins for the Brewers with three… Struck out 11 batters… Recorded the save against Plymouth State (3/12)… Struck out a season-high three batters at Clarkson (3/30) and only allowed one hit… Three games without allowing a hit… Six games allowing just one hit.

2018: The tall right-hander saw action in 10 games as a freshman, starting twice...posted an 8.31 ERA while going 0-2...finished with 17.1 innings over work...was dynamite in his first collegiate appearance, allowing only one hit in three innings at Chapman March 11...at Williams on April 11, worked two scoreless innings of relief, allowing two hits while fanning two...started at Moravian on April 21, and allowed three earned runs and three just three hits over 4.1 innings in a no-decision. 

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Played for the Lions of Dulaney High School, earning two varsity letters...also lettered in basketball...was 7-1 in his career with Dulaney, posting a 3-0 record with a 0.84 ERA as a junior...part of a 4A North Section I title squad in 2017...team also was Baltimore County champions in 2016 and 2017...played for the Putty Hill Panthers travel team...earned a 4.0 GPA and was a National Honor Society member. 

PERSONAL: Son of Bill and Andrea Fitzgerald...has one brother, Justin...mom competed in equestrian at Cornell University, while father was a sprint football player at Cornell as well...chose Vassar over Brandeis and Haverford because Vassar "provides a flexible and high quality liberal arts education as well as the opportunity to challenge myself athletically."
