A Look At The Brewers (3-2):

  • The Brewers haven't competed in a timed dual meet since the home loss to New Paltz, but last competed in Rochester at the RIT Invitational, taking second place out of six teams in attendance.
  • Looking at the Liberty League top times, Vassar freshman backstroker Rhea Randhawa is currently fifth with a season-best of 1:00.26 in the 100 back. She ranks second in the 200 back with a 2:07.95.
  • Junior Hayley Schultz ranks third in the 100 breast stroke right now with a 1:08.37 at RIT, while freshman Shannon Schrope is fifth in the same event with a 1:08.81. The duo is 2-4 in the top times in the 200 breast.
  • Freshman Brynn Lautenbacher ranks sixth in the Liberty League in the 100 fly with a 1:00.30 swam at RIT on December 2, while posting the League's eighth best time at 2:17.58 in the 200 fly.
  • Randhawa is second in the conference standings in the 200 IM right now, posting a 2:11.23, and sits in third in the current seeding in the 400 IM with a NCAA "B" cut time of 4:36.58.

  • The Brewers welcome back one of their most decorated swimmers from the past two seasons in junior Sammy Stone, who was abroad during the fall semester. She will only add depth to an already strong distance free group.
  • Vassar also gained some reinforcements on the planks, as Katie Nordstrom will now be joined by senior Nora Kyrkjebø and junior Hannah Zawacki. Kyrkjebø returns to the team after a year and a half absence, but is the program's 1-meter, 11-dive all-time record holder with 409.20 points in 2016.

A Look At The Lyons (1-3):

  • Mount Holyoke comes to town with a 1-3 dual meet record this season, but hasn't swam in a dual meet since November 18, a home loss to Wellesley 173-121. MHC finished sixth of nine teams at the Hamilton Invitational December 1-2.
  • The Lyons also swam a non-timing system meet against Johns Hopkins University January 3 down in Jupiter, Florida.
  • Tamara Mukulu is the team's best sprint freestyler, chalking up team-bests of 26.10 in the 50 free and 57.85 in the 100 free.

  • Sabrina Groves will be the go-to option in the 200 IM for the Lyons, as she swam a 2:17.82 at the Hamilton Invitational.
  • On the boards, MHC has a contingent of three divers, led by Samantha Nemivant.

A Look At The Bantams (0-4):

  • Trinity has gone 0-4 this season in dual meets, but the Bantams have swum against some solid competition. Trinity will also take on Clark University Friday evening at 6 pm before traveling to Poughkeepsie.
  • Trinity will lean on standout swimmer Samantha McStocker, as she has posted the team's best times in the 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM this season.

  • Ettinger also has the team's best 100 fly time so far this season with 1:01.70, topping the 200 fly list as well with a 2:18.92.
  • The Bantams will have three divers here Saturday, led by Lia Urban Spillane, who has a top score this season of 232.05.

Up Next: VC will see the Lyons again next weekend, as the Brewers travel to South Hadley, MA for the Seven Sisters Championships at Mount Holyoke College Saturday-Sunday, January 20-21.
