- Vassar's offense got going in a big way as they scored more goals (6) against Brockport than they had in their first three games of the season (4).
- Sophomore goalie Liz Rotolo leads the Liberty League in goals against AVG with a .287 after allowing just one shot past her over 244:01 minutes.
- The Brewers are outshooting their opponents 86-16 and outcornering them 47-13 so far this season.
- The majority of Vassar's productivity this season has been in the second half. Eight of their ten goals as well as 51 of their 86 shots have come in the second frame. Look for Head Coach Michael Warari to focus on getting this team off to a faster start going forward.
- After assisting on 76% and 75% of their goals in 2015 and 2016 respectively, the Brewers have only assisted on 50% of their goals this season.
- Vassar's defensive unit has surrendered just two goals over four games, an average of .5 per game, both of which lead the Liberty League.
- Junior Monica Feeley leads the team in minutes after playing all 280 in the first four games. She is closely followed by Molly Youse (269), Rylie Pope (252), and Cristina Lopez (244).
- Senior Storm Sideleau got her first start of the season on Saturday marking the first starting lineup change for the Brewers.
A Look at the Colonials (2-2):
- After being shutout in back to back non-conference matchups to start the season, the Colonials won two conference contests with a combined 5 goals.
- Western Connecticut went 2-1 on a recent three game home-stand, but will now travel to Poughkeepsie to begin a six-game round trip through New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
- The Colonials have been much stronger in conference play with 54 of their 63 shots coming when competing against Little East opponents.
- Sophomore Forward Morgan Matthews is the most dangerous player up front for the Colonials. She has tallied three goals on 12 shots, nine of which were on net, in their four games this season.
- Freshman Goalkeeper Neve Manion has started all four games for Western Connecticut and has notched 24 saves to go along with a .828 save percentage.
- Two different players, Greta McConnell and Kimberly Brower have notched defensive saves for the Colonials.
- Brower and Matthews, along with Hannah Redstone and Carly Matasavage have all taken over 10 shots for the balanced Colonial attack
Against Western Connecticut All-Time: Vassar is 10-3 all time against the Colonials including victories in each of the past four seasons. The matchup has been riddled with win streaks as the Brewers won the first six contests from 1988-2008, proceed to drop the next three from 2009-2011, before beginning the aforementioned four game win streak they currently wish to extend.
