Colorado Springs, CO - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its All-American selections on Tuesday morning as Vassar College Field Hockey senior midfielder
Sofia Beseth was named a Third Team All-American for the first time in her collegiate career. This marks the fourth All-American in Vassar program history and the first since Hailey Brigger in 2023.
Beseth finished a breakout senior campaign where she was named an All-Region III First Team honoree and an All-Liberty League First Team selection for the first time in her career. Beseth produced seven goals, a career-high four assists and 18 points in her senior season to earn all of these illustrious honors. Following her senior campaign, she was honored as a NFHCA Senior Team selection as one of just 60 Division III student-athletes to earn the honor.
She was also named an All-Liberty League Honorable Mention selection in 2022 as a sophomore followed by a All-Liberty League Second Team selection as a junior last season. Beseth's game-winning goal over Kean this season gave her six for her career and ties her for fourth all-time in Vassar program history. Beseth also finishes sixth all-time in goals with 23 while being tied for 10th in Vassar program history in points with 53 and ranks in the top-10 in points per game at 0.78.
Beseth is also a three-time Liberty League All-Academic team selection along with being named to the NFHCA All-Academic Squad three times. She also is currently our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) president and oversees all of the executive board and all SAAC members.
The Brewers closed the season at 13-7 overall and 5-2 in Liberty League regular season matchups and won the program's first Liberty League crown since 2021 and returned to the NCAA Championship for the third time in program history.
