Vassar Women’s Swimming Meet Notes – Skidmore

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 2, 2017) – Coming off a pair of home wins, the Vassar women's swimming and diving squad will take the two-hour trip north to Saratoga Springs, NY to take on Skidmore College Saturday afternoon in dual meet action.

Last Time Out: Vassar is coming off a pair of victories its last two times out, having knocked off Brandeis University while also taking down Bard College last Wednesday evening. Vassar was led against the Raptors by Brynn Lautenbacher, who earned a pair of individual wins while Hayley Schultz and Rhea Randhawa also earned top times in each of their single events.  
 
A Look At The Brewers (2-0):
  • The Brewers got their two best 50 free swims of the season against Bard back on Oct. 25, as Hayley Schultz won the event with a 26.23 while Ellie Kennedy-Wood swam a 26.90.
  • Schultz, who is also a strong breaststroke swimmers, has VC's best 100 free time while freshman Shannon Schrope swam a 58.77 against Bard for her best time of the season in the event.
  • Freshman Brynn Lautenbacher and Angharad Healey went 1-2 in the 200 free against Bard, as their respective times of 2:03.31 and 2:03.81 were seasonal bests.
  • Junior Kael Ragnini swam her season-best times in a pair of wins against Bard in the 500 and 1000 free events.
  • Freshman Rhea Randhawa has Vassar's top times in the 100 and 200 back events, while Sarah Boese also has been strong in those events.
  • Schultz swam a season-best time in the 100 breast of 1:09.10, while Shrope holds VC's top time in the 200 breast with a 2:34.98.
  • Lautenbacher and Kennedy-Wood have been very impressive in the 100 fly events, while also pacing the 200 butterfly swims for VC as well.
 
A Look At The Thoroughbreds (1-1):
  • Skidmore's best sprint freestylers both sport the first name Olivia, as Frechette and Czelusniak pace the team in both the 50 and 100 free events.
  • Frechette has shown the ability though to excel on the longer events also, as she holds a season-best time of 5:30.86 in the 500 free.
  • Jazmin Rendon is a standout in the both backstroke events, as she leads the team in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.33 while swimming a 2:25.64 in the 200 back.
  • Meredith Wagner and Alyssa Pacewicz come into the weekend with Skidmore's top breaststroke times in the 100, chalking up times of 1:15.86 and 1:16.18, respectively. They are 1-2 in the 200 breast as well.
  • Elizabeth Levy and Maddie Collins are the team's best butterfly options in both distances, while Levy paces the team on the 200 IM with a 2:23.09.
  • Skidmore has three solid divers, as Rachel Adamsky leads the way with a season-best score of 189.90. Hannah Krall has posted a 185.48 as well on the 1 meter.
