POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 10, 2017) – The Vassar College women's swimming & diving team will head to Troy, NY this weekend to take on fellow undefeated foe Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Saturday at 1 p.m. in action from Robison Pool. Vassar is coming off a 165-127 victory over Skidmore College last weekend.

Last Time Out: The Brewers raced past the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College last weekend thanks to strong outings from many swimmers. Freshman Brynn Lautenbacher earned a pair of individual victories while teaming with a pair of two relays for wins, while fellow newcomer Rhea Randhawa added two first-place finishes as well. The Brewers also got a pair of wins from freshman Angharad Healey, and junior
Hayley Schultz helped VC by earning wins in three different races.
A Look at the Brewers (3-0):
- Vassar has had three swimmers under the 27-second mark in the 50 free, as Lautenbacher, Shultz and freshman Ellie Kennedy-Wood have paced VC in the event. Lautenbacher posted her season-best time against Skidmore.
- Freshman Stephanie Kaplan returned from injury to swim the best 100 yard free time of the season for VC against Skidmore, chalking up a 57.73.
- Healey, along with Kael Ragnini, have been VC's top distance free options so far this year, as the pair is 1-2 in both the 500 and 1000 free events for Vassar. Healey has posted a 5:25.89 and 11:09.38 in the two events.
- Randhawa has paced the Brewers in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events this year, swimming a 1:01.37 in the 100 and a 2:11.40 in the 200 back.
- Senior Emily McDaniels swam a season-best 2:47.68 in the 200 breast stroke last time out against Skidmore, while Kaplan posted a 1:13.39 in the 100 breast against Skidmore for her season-best time.
- Lautenbacher posted her season-best time in the 100 butterfly against Skidmore at 1:00.34, and Healey registered her season-best time in the 200 fly last weekend with a 2:19.09. Lautenbacher was named CollegeSwimming.com's Liberty League Swimmer of the Week.
- Kennedy-Wood and McDaniels both posted season-best time in the 200 IM the last time out, led by Kennedy-Wood's 2:24.00.
- Vassar's 3-0 start is the second time in the last three seasons. Vassar is currently ranked No. 47 in the CollegeSwimming.com Poll.
A Look at the Engineers (4-0):
- The Engineers are currently ranked No. 15 in the CollegeSwimming.com Dual Meet Rankings, posting victories so far this season over RIT, No. 40 Ithaca College, No. 45 Worcester State and Simmons College.
- Freshman Kaity Joyce has made a splash so far this season, pacing the Engineers in in the 50 free while swimming a 55.43 in the 100 free.
- Danielle Sauve and sister Danielle Sauve pace the 200, 500, and 1000 free events for the Engineers, as Sauve's posted an 11:05.90 for her best 1000 time this season.
- Junior backstroker Amanda Wang has a season-best time in the 100 back of 1:00.21, while Emily Mayoras has paced the team in the 200 back with a 2:10.66.
- Caitlyn Gardiner registered a 1:10.38 in the 100 breast against Ithaca College for the team's best time in the event, while Jessica Sauve posted a 2:29.49 to pace the squad in the 200 breast.
- All-American Shanny Lin is back for her senior season, having posted season-best times in the 100 fly of 59.06 and 2:06.71 in the 200 fly.
- Jessica Sauve (2:16.55) and Lin (2:17.81) are the people to watch for in the 200 IM, while Amanda Wang also has posted a time of 2:18.23.
