A Look At The Brewers:
- Vassar earned a season-opening win for the fifth straight season, with the last loss on to start the campaign came back in 2011 against Hartwick in a 3-1 defeat.
- The goal scored by Tavakkol Saturday was her first collegiate tally, which helped the Brewers double their lead.

- Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Amico became the all-time shutout leader this weekend, registering her eighth in just over one season of action. The previous record holder Maggie Brelis '14 recorded 7.5 in her career.
- Young was the main option for the Brewers when inserting corners, as she took 25 of the 30 off the line.
- Sophomore Monica Feeley was dominant in the midfield for the Brewers, helping her earn Betty Richey Tournament MVP and Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
- Freshman Cristina Lopez played all but five minutes during her first two games, as she posted three shots as a standout defensive center midfielder.
- The Brewers surrendered just nine shots in two games, out-shooting their opposition 52-9.
A Look At The Cougars:
- Kean comes to town with a 2-0 record thus far, having picked up a 5-1 win over Wilkes University and a 1-0 overtime win over Susquehanna.
- Krista LaMaina scored three of the team's six goals this past weekend, assisting on another goal for a total of seven points.
- Sister Shauna LaMaina also posted three points while leading the squad with 11 shots over the first two games.
- Erin Smith played all but 6:11 in cage for the Cougars over their first two victories, making five saves and allowing one goal.
- Kean outshot opponents over its first two games 37-10.
- Rachel Mills posted the only over game-winning goal for the Cougars.
- Head coach Leslie LaFronz has been at the helm of the Cougar field hockey team for seven seasons, winning 83 games thus far as the head mentor at KU.
Against Kean University All-Time: The Brewers are 4-6 all-time against the Cougars; with the two teams alternating wins the last four seasons. Over the previous six meetings, the home team has won all six matchups. Last time the Brewers and Cougars met on Weinberg Field, Enya Cunningham ended the festivities with a penalty stroke in overtime for a 1-0 win.
Next Up: Vassar will take on The College at Brockport Saturday at noon on Weinberg Field before traveling to Western Connecticut State University next Wednesday at 7 p.m. in more non-conference play.
