Last Time Out
The Vassar men's lacrosse team fell 11-7 to Montclair State University on Wednesday. Junior captain Brandon DeStasio scored a team-high three goals, Chris Billups totaled two, and Dekker Stebel and Noah Parson added one apiece. Brandon Crecco recorded nine saves, and MSU goalie Lucas Jones had 10. The game was tied a 2-all before the Red Hawks scored three goals in three minutes toward the end of the first quarter.

A Look At The Swarthmore Garnet (3-0, 0-0 Centennial)
The Garnet have started off strong this season, undefeated through three games. Each game has been close, however, with the biggest margin being only three goals, an 8-5 win over Drew University on Wednesday. Two hat tricks from Cam Marsh and Dylan Rittenhouse secured the win against Drew for Swarthmore, while goalie John Calia notched 10 saves in net.

Against Swarthmore All-Time
Vassar is 0-3 against Swarthmore since their first meeting in 2000. In recent years, the Brewers fell 15-10 in 2014 and 12-11 in 2015.

Hat Trick
Junior captain Brandon DeStasio scored a team-high three goals in Vassar's 11-7 setback on Wednesday. This season, two of his four goals have been man-up.

Almost There
Noah Parson tied the program record for all-time career goals on Wednesday against Montclair State, matching Max Herman, who posted 91 goals from 2011-2014. Parson only needs one goal against Swarthmore in order to break the record. Parson is also on track to become the all-time leader in points with 129. The number to beat is 135, which is also currently held by Herman.

Second Stanza Bonanza
The Brewers have gotten an extra bolt of energy in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 11-2 on 11-of-20 shooting in the period.

Sharing The Wealth
The Brewers have been generous with the ball, and that extra pass has helped. The Brewers have assisted on 19 of their 26 goals through two games this season.

Balanced Brewers
The team has shown its depth early on this season with 12 players tallying at least a point and nine netting at least one goal.

Bank On Billups
Chris Billup has shown exceptional efficiency this season. He has taken six shots so far, and five of them have found the back of the net.

Rookie of the Week
The Liberty League named Dekker Stebel the Rookie of the Week on Monday after his breakout performance in his first collegiate contest. The middie scored three goals on seven shots and added two assists in Vassar's 19-7 opening win over Western Connecticut State on Feb. 24. Stebel followed that performance with another goal in against Montclair State on Wednesday.

Junior Defenders
Vassar's four starting defensemen, Eric Prezioso, Brian Kube, Brandon Klein, and Steven Mages, are all juniors. The Class of 2017 has been a consistent presence on the defensive end, accompanied by fellow junior long-stick middie Austin Haymes.

Up Next
The Vassar men's lacrosse team will travel to New London, CT, to play Connecticut College at Silfen Field on Wednesday, March 9 at 4 p.m.
