What To Look For
The Brewers are coming into this mid-week meet off of a tremendously successful performance at the NFC Championships last weekend. The men dominated in all five of their dual meets to clinch the third place spot in the conference this season and will be looking to continue their success and build more momentum this Wednesday. The result at the NFC competition bolsters their record to 24-13 overall and 8-2 in conference play, resting their percentage at a comfortable .649.

A Look At the Violets
New York University will be a tough opponent in the foil weapon, as their men's foil squad earned the honor of being named University Athletic Association's Athletes of the Week on February 1st last week. The whole team is entering Wednesday's meet on a good note as they dominated 6-0 at their last competition, the Eric Sollee Invitational hosted by Brandeis University at the end of January.

A Look at the Lions
Columbia men's fencing squad will be hard to beat this Wednesday, as they are coming off a huge weekend having forced a three way tie for the Ivy League Championship title, which they earned in their 2014/15 season alone. Ranked No. 1 on College Fencing 320 Coaches Poll, the Lions were last year's NCAA Team Champions and home to the NCAA Men's Epee Individual Champion.

Snow Day
The Lions and the Violets were scheduled to meet on the strip on January 23rd at the NYU/St. Johns meet, which ended up being cancelled for snow. As a result, this will be both Vassar and NYU's first time matching up against the Lions this 2015/16 season.

Climbing the Standings
Vassar's men's team, after a huge performance at the second Northeast Fencing Conference event of the year, have jumped in the NFC rankings from previously No. 5 to sitting pretty at No. 3, under only Brown and Brandeis Universities. Combined with women, the Brewers are tied with MIT and Sacred Heart for the No. 4 position.

Up Next
Vassar men's fencing team will take the strip again on Feb. 20 at 9:00 a.m. at the New England Intercollegiate Fencing Championships hosted in Wellesley, MA.
