Last Time Out: Alex Seff's career night propelled Vassar to a 71-65, season-opening win over New Paltz at the Athletics and Fitness Center on Tuesday. The sophomore guard registered a double-double of 34 points and 12 rebounds.

A Look At The Brewers (1-0):
  • The Brewers boast three captains this season in Mickey Adams, Jesse Browne and Alex Seff.
  • Vassar opens the season with four games at home before playing the rest of 2016 on the road. The Brewers will face two NESCAC schools during that road trip, facing Williams College and Wesleyan University before getting into Liberty League play.
  • Vassar is one of three Liberty League teams to take the season-opener, as Bard College, Union College and Clarkson University all fell in their first game.
  • The Brewers shot a whopping 50 percent from the floor and 38 percent (6-of-16) from three, while holding their visitors to 39 and 29 percent (6-of-21), respectively, in the season-opener.
  • Vassar capitalized on New Paltz' mistakes, scoring 17 points off the Hawks 17 giveaways. The Brewers surrendered just seven points on nine turnovers.
  • Owen Murray looked solid at the point, compiling eight points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals over 35 minutes in his collegiate debut. Fellow freshman Hunter Gettings also played well, registering a game-high four steals over 17 minutes.
  • Alex Seff's 34 points against New Paltz are tied for the second most for a single game in school history. The guard shares the honor with Ed Pittman, who poured in 34 against Bard in 1981.
  • Alex Seff (34 points, 12 boards vs. New Paltz) currently has one other collegiate double-double, having dropped 12 points and 10 rebounds on Union last season.
  •  The Brewers look to build upon their 2015-16 season, in which they finished 12-14 overall and 8-8 in conference play with a trip to the Liberty League semifinals.

A Look At The Wolves (0-1):
  • Keuka will be tested early in the season. Following their season-opener, the Wolves play their next eight games on the road.
  • Keuka dropped its season opener, 75-63, to Liberty League opponent Hobart College on Tuesday.
  • Greg Tyler paced the Wolves with a career-high 23 points in the season-opener, while Cameron Winston added 19 in his first collegiate game.
  • On defense, Dylan Doupe led the Wolves with nine rebounds, as the Wolves won the battle of the boards, 43-36.
  • Keuka totaled just three points from the bench, as the starters did most of the scoring.
  • The Wolves and Statesmen were fairly even as far as field goal percentages; however, Keuka struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on 19 percent (3-of-16) of three-pointers. Conversely, Hobart shot 25 percent from three, knocking down seven triples.
  • This season, Keuka has six freshmen, six sophomores and four juniors, as the team does not have any seniors on the roster.
  • Head coach Thad Phillips is in his seventh season with the program. His most successful season came during 2014-15, as he led the Wolves to a winning 15-10 record, including a trip to the NEAC semifinals.
  • The Wolves aim to build off their 2015-16 season, in which they finished 9-14 overall and 6-11 in conference play, earning the fifth spot in the NEAC standings.

Against Keuka All-Time: The Brewers are 1-0 against the Wolves all-time, having beaten them on the road 55-47 in 1990.

A Look At The Badgers (1-0):
  • The Badgers will play five of their first six games on the road before enjoying a stretch, wherein they play five of six games at home.
  • Johnson State won its season-opener, 66-55, to University of Maine - Presque Isle on Tuesday.
  • Against UMPI, the Badgers shot 40 percent from the floor and held the Owls to just 31 percent.
  • Both teams struggled from beyond the arc, with Johnson holding a slight edge in three-point percentage, 25 to 24 percent.
  • Johnson State capitalized on UMPI's mistakes, scoring 22 points off the Owls' 20 giveaways.
  • Marquon Wynn and Rasul Jackson led the balanced Badgers offense with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Jeyquan Johnson added 11 points and collected a team high eight rebounds off the bench.
  • Johnson State's roster is comprised of five freshmen, two sophomores, eight juniors and two seniors.
  • Head coach Miles Smith, who graduated from Johnson State in 2009, is back to lead the Badgers for a second season.
  • The Badgers look to build upon their 2015-16 campaign, in which they finished 10-17 overall. That marked their fist double-digit winning season since 2008-09.

Against Johnson State All-Time: Should the Brewers and Badgers square off, this will mark their first meeting.

A Look At The Lightning (0-1):
  • Lehman plays five of its first seven games on the road.
  • The Lightning fell in their home-opener, losing 85-83 to Martime College. The Brewers will face the Privateers following the Vassar Tip-Off.
  • Three members of the Lehman squad tallied double figures against Maritime.  Andrew Utate paced the team with 18 points.  Ed Pasquale and John Brens added 17 and 10 points respectively.
  • Despite shooting 49 percent from the field and 43 percent from behind the arc on Tuesday, the Lightning only converted nine of 19 free throws. Lehman was also out-rebounded, 39-29.
  • This season, Lehman boasts an experienced roster with 10 juniors and four seniors. Tommy Batista is the only freshman, and Edwin Zorilla is the lone sophomore.
  • The Lightning lost three key players from a year ago: Chaun Miller and Olando Minott were Lehman's two leading scorers and center Ed Pascual also leaves big shoes to fill, as he averaged eight points and five boards a game.
  • Head coach Steve Schulman, the reigning CUNYAC Coach of the Year, returns to Lehman for his 16th season.
  • Lehman looks to build off its 2015-16 season, in which it finished 18-8 overall and 12-4 in conference. The Lighting advanced to the CUNYAC Championship before falling to Baruch College in the semifinals.

Against Lehman All-Time: The Brewers are 2-1 versus the Lightning all-time, dating back to their first meeting in 1996. Vassar most recently won at home, topping Lehman 52-48 in 1998.

Next Up: The Brewers will play one more game at home, hosting Maritime on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., before hitting the road for the University of Rochester Thanksgiving Tournament.
