Poughkeepsie, NY - D3hoops.com announced its All-Region selections on Monday morning as Vassar College Men's Basketball junior guard Shea Fitzgerald was tabbed a Second Team All-Region III selection. This marks the second straight season where Fitzgerald was named an All-Region honoree.

Fitzgerald, who was an All-Region III First Team selection last season, put together another banner season for the Brewers as he led the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game and recorded career-highs in three-pointers made (84), rebounds (5.0 per game), assists (85) and free-throw percentage (88.4-percent). The junior was named the Liberty League Championship's Most Outstanding Performer after averaging 20 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during the three-game postseason stretch. Fitzgerald posted 23 double-digit scoring games along with registering a season-high 28 points twice against Union this season.

Following his junior season, Fitzgerald ranks fourth all-time in points with 1,344 along with being fourth in three-pointers made in a career with 184. Fitzgerald has also set the new single season program record for three-pointers made in a single season with 84. His career scoring average of 17.0 points per game sits third all-time in Vassar history and he is just six made free throws away from breaking the Vassar program record. The junior currently ranks third all-time in steals in his career with 126 and is in the top-10 in assists and assists average. Fitzgerald is also currently holding the all-time career free throw percentage record at 87.4-percent and finished the campaign second in free throw percentage in a single season at 88.4-percent.

Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team. This organization results in approximately 10 additional players being recognized when compared to full seasons in the old eight-region alignment.

Players from these lists are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams and the men's basketball All-America team will be released in the following week.
