Greenwood, IN - The Vassar College Men's Basketball team, following the most successful season in program history, saw four student-athletes named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. Juniors
Shea Fitzgerald,
Kreekor Karageuzian,
Sebastian Medina and sophomore
Parker Neuenhaus have all been honored for excelling both on the field and in the classroom.
Fitzgerald, an Economics major, led the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game and recorded career-highs in three-pointers made (84), rebounds (5.0 per game), assists (85) and free-throw percentage (88.4-percent). The junior was named the Liberty League Championship's Most Outstanding Performer after averaging 20 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during the three-game postseason stretch to help lead Vassar to its second Liberty League championship in program history. Fitzgerald posted 23 double-digit scoring games along with registering a season-high 28 points twice against Union this season, including the Liberty League Championship semifinal victory over the Garnet Chargers. Fitzgerald was named an All-Liberty League First Team, NABC All-District III First Team and D3hoops.com All-Region III Second Team selection.
Following his junior season, Fitzgerald ranks fourth all-time in points with 1,344 along with being fourth in three-pointers made in a career with 184. Fitzgerald has also set the new single season program record for three-pointers made in a single season with 84. His career scoring average of 17.0 points per game sits third all-time in Vassar history and he is just six made free throws away from breaking the Vassar program record. The junior currently ranks third all-time in steals in his career with 126 and is in the top-10 in assists and assists average. Fitzgerald is also currently holding the all-time career free throw percentage record at 87.4-percent and finished the campaign second in free throw percentage in a single season at 88.4-percent.
Karageuzian, a Mathematics major, played a crucial role in Vassar's nationally-ranked top-20 defense as he helped the Brewers finish the season ranked 15th in field goal defense at 39.2-percent and third in the country in three-point defense at 27.5-percent. Karageuzian added 4.7 points per game, a team-high 96 assists and 37 steals while his 3.3 assists per game ranks seventh in a single season in Vassar program history. Following his junior campaign, Karageuzian currently sits fifth in assists per game in program history. Karageuzian tallied his first career double-double against RIT on January 16 after recording 11 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over the Tigers.
Medina, a Mathematics major, also played a key role in the Brewers stingy defense as the junior was part of a defense that limited opponents to 64.9 points per game, which ranked 18th in Division III, and also was 19th in the country in rebounding at 42.3 per contest. Medina completed an all-around season for Vassar as he averaged 5.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game along with 29 steals and 26 blocks. Medina recorded a new career-high in points with 13 in the win over Ithaca on December 5 while tallying a career-high eight assists in the season-opening win over SUNY Geneseo. Medina also set a new career-best mark in field goals made, three-pointers made, free throws made, assists, blocks and steals in 2025-26.
Neuenhaus, currently Undeclared, burst onto the scene in his first season with Vassar as the sophomore finished second on the team in points with 14.0 per game and second in rebounding with 6.1 per contest. Neuenhaus was also fourth on the squad in blocks with 24 and shot 49.6-percent from the field. Neuenhaus recorded 22 double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 31 points against Ithaca, and garnered four double-doubles this season. Over the final eight games of the regular season and Liberty League Championship, Neuenhaus has averaged 18.3 points and 7.0 rebounds to help lead the Brewers to its second conference title.
Vassar closed the 2025-26 season with a program record 20 overall victories, 13 Liberty League regular season wins and won its second Liberty League title and made its second appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
