Fitzgerald, Neuenhaus Collect All-Met Honors

Fitzgerald named First Team for the second straight year, Neuenhaus earns first All-Met selection

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Met Basketball Writers Association announced its All-Met selections on Tuesday morning as Vassar College Men's Basketball junior Shea Fitzgerald was named a First Team selection along with sophomore Parker Neuenhaus scoring Honorable Mention honors.

Fitzgerald finishes the 2025-26 season being named an All-Liberty League First Team, NABC All-District III First Team and D3hoops.com All-Region III selection after yet another outstanding season for the Brewers. Fitzgerald led the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game and recorded career-highs in three-pointers made (84), rebounds (5.0 per game), assists (85) and free-throw percentage (88.4-percent). The junior was named the Liberty League Championship's Most Outstanding Performer after averaging 20 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during the three-game postseason stretch to help lead Vassar to its second Liberty League championship in program history. Fitzgerald posted 23 double-digit scoring games along with registering a season-high 28 points twice against Union this season, including the Liberty League Championship semifinal victory over the Garnet Chargers.

Following his junior season, Fitzgerald ranks fourth all-time in points with 1,344 along with being fourth in three-pointers made in a career with 184. Fitzgerald has also set the new single season program record for three-pointers made in a single season with 84. His career scoring average of 17.0 points per game sits third all-time in Vassar history and he is just six made free throws away from breaking the Vassar program record. The junior currently ranks third all-time in steals in his career with 126 and is in the top-10 in assists and assists average. Fitzgerald is also currently holding the all-time career free throw percentage record at 87.4-percent and finished the campaign second in free throw percentage in a single season at 88.4-percent. Fitzgerald has now been named an All-Liberty League selection three times, earned the Liberty League Player of the Year in 2025, a two-time NABC All-District selection, a two-time D3hoops.com All-Region selection, a NABC All-American in 2025,  two-time All-Met selection and a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree.

Neuenhaus finishes his first season with the Brewers as an All-Liberty League Second Team choice, a CSC Academic All-District honoree and an All-Met Writers Honorable Mention nod. Neuenhaus burst onto the scene in his first season with Vassar as the sophomore finished second on the team in points with 14.0 per game and second in rebounding with 6.1 per contest. Neuenhaus was also fourth on the squad in blocks with 24 and shot 49.6-percent from the field. Neuenhaus recorded 22 double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 31 points against Ithaca, and garnered four double-doubles this season. Over the final eight games of the regular season and Liberty League Championship, Neuenhaus has averaged 18.3 points and 7.0 rebounds to help lead the Brewers to its second conference title.

Vassar finished its record-breaking season with a 20-9 overall record and 13-5 in Liberty League play on its way to winning its second conference championship crown. The 20 victories set a new program record for wins in a single season along with the 13 conference wins marking the highest win total in program history.
