What To Look For
The Brewers (6-8, 2-3 Liberty) have won two of its past three games, but look to get back on track after coming off a close 78-74 loss to Union College on Saturday. Center Paul Grinde (Virginia Beach, VA/Cape Henry Collegiate School) recorded his third double-double, scoring 18 points to go along with his career-best 18 boards. The freshman was one of four starters to score in double-figures, as Erikson Wasyl (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) also scored 18 points, Mickey Adams (Boston, MA/St. Sebastian's School) added 17 and Jesse Browne (Barrington, RI/Deerfield Academy) chipped in with 16. Vassar was hot from beyond the arc, hitting 43 percent of its threes on 11-of-26 shooting, while holding the Dutchmen to 33 percent (10-of-30). The Brewers led by a pair at the break, but couldn't hold off the Dutchmen in the second half.

A Look At The Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers (8-7, 4-2 Liberty)
RIT beat the other team Vassar will play this weekend in Hobart on Tuesday. After leading by two at the break, the Tigers took off in the second half, outscoring the Statesmen by 14 points in that span on their way to a 75-59 victory. The win marked the first time the RIT men's basketball team beat Hobart since 2005. Kamron Davis led the Tigers with his fifth double-double (18 points, 15 rebounds), while AJ Horde and Mitch Herman both added 12 points. The Tigers outscored the statesmen 8-2 in final 3:28 to secure the victory. With nine players on the roster at least 6-foot-3, they used their size to score 32 points in paint. The win broke a two-game losing streak, in which RIT fell to Clarkson University and St. Lawrence University.
RIT has been efficient from the field and from three-point range to lead the Liberty League in scoring (77.1 points per game), field goal percentage (45.8) and three-point percentage (38.6). On the defensive end, the Tigers have been crashing the boards to be second in the conference in offensive rebounds (10.9 per game) and third in overall rebounding offense (38.4 per game). RIT also leads the League in blocked shots, averaging 3.47 per game.

Against RIT All-Time
Since meeting for the first time in 1990, the Brewers are 3-6 against the Tigers. RIT swept last season's series 2-0, winning 73-63 on Jan. 17 and 69-67 on Feb. 13. Jesse Browne came off the bench to score a 2014-15 personal season-best 24 points in the first game, and Tony Caletti (Mill Valley, CA/Branson) was one of two Brewers to score in double-digits (14 points, 4-of-6 from three) in the second.

A Look At The Hobart Statesmen (6-8, 2-3 Liberty)
Hobart has fallen in six of its past eight games, including a 75-59 loss to RIT on Tuesday. The Statesmen shot a season-low 28 percent, taking a season-high 75 shots in the game. Freshman Jamal Lucas provided a bright spot for the Statesmen, scoring a game-high 20 points to go along with his eight rebounds and five steals, while Luke Ruddy recorded his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Hobart built a six-point lead at some point in the first half, but RIT scored nine straight toward the beginning of the second.
Hobart is last of nine teams in the Liberty League when it comes to field goal percentages, shooting 40 percent. With that said, the Statesmen rely on their three-point shooting to be first in the conference with 9.3 treys per game and second in the conference with 38.6 percent efficiency from beyond the arc. Hobart also has 7.86 steals per game, good for second best in the Liberty League.

Against Hobart All-Time
Since their first meeting in 2001, the Brewers are 3-26 versus the Statesmen. Most recently, Vassar broke a 15-game losing streak with a 65-63 win Feb. 14, 2015. Spencer Einhorn (Birmingham, AL/ Mountain Brook) was one of three Brewers to score in double-figures, totaling 11 points off the bench.

Cleaning The Boards
Vassar has out-rebounded its opponents in each of its past three games, dating back to a 47-27 domination Jan. 12 versus RPI. The Brewers haven't grabbed as many boards since Jan. 28, 2014 when they totaled 57 against RPI.

Home Court Advantage
The Brewers have played just five games on their home court thus far. Vassar currently holds a winning 3-2 record at the Athletics and Fitness Center and a 2-1 record at neutral sites.

Up Next
Following this weekend's games in Rochester and Geneva, the Brewers will stay on the road for a midweek matchup at Bard College on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. Vassar next plays at home for a four-game series Jan. 29 when it welcomes Clarkson University to the Athletics and Fitness Center.
