A Look At The Brewers
The Brewers (5-5, 1-2 Liberty League) were recently caught off guard in the first half against Liberty League opponent, St. Lawrence University on Saturday. The Saints started the game with five first quarter goals, adding another three in the second and allowing Vassar to only score twice in the first quarter. The Brewers composed a second half comeback but still fell, 8-13. Junior Sean Brazier (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) led the Brewers with two goals and two assists while gathering one ground ball. Freshmen Liam Moriarty (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield) and Sam Houston-Read (Waban, MA/Newtown South) added a goal and an assist each.

Senior Andrew Nicol (Carmel, NY/Brewster) leads Vassar with 92 saves from 185 shots on goal and 298 shots in total. He is 5-5 on the season and has also recovered 21 ground balls and has caused four turnovers. Moriarty is the team leader in ground balls with 40 while also acting as a near .500 faceoff specialist, winning 55-of-112 starts.

Senior Max Herman (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Regional) leads the Brewers with 38 points from 25 goals and 13 assists. His shot on goal percentage is 58.8 percent with 47-of-80 shots being on target. Both his goals and assists are team-highs.

A Look At The Rangers
Drew recently added to their losing streak with a 2-14 loss to the University of Scranton. The loss now sets them on a four-loss span. Their last win came against Swarthmore College on March 19, 9-8. Mike Marone and Andrew Somps each took three shots and each scored once. The Rangers didn't record any assists in the game. Kyle Mariboe earned the loss in goal, giving up five goals and recording four saves. Teddy Sweeney came in for relief in the second quarter with five minutes remaining, giving up nine goals and stopping four.

The Rangers are not a high-scoring team. Marone leads the pack with 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points while Mark Barus has scored 12 times and helped twice. Kevin Cleary stands alone in the ground balls category. He has picked up 52 this season as the faceoff specialist while Aaron Davis follows with 28 ground balls. Mariboe has 111 saves this season from the 200 shots on goal and a total of 318 shots.

Against Drew All-Time
The Brewer/Ranger series is a sparse one. They have met only twice before with both outcomes in favor of Drew. Their first game was a 15-7 result in 2004 and then a 12-9 victory for the Rangers last year.

Nation's Top 100
Three Brewers are ranked in the Top 100 in the nation in four separate categories. Herman is leading the way with points per game (#50), goals per game (#85) and assists per game (#92). Sophomore Noah Parson (Cary, NC/Panther Creek) is behind him in all three categories except assists. Both are tied at #92. Sophomore Colin Cederna (Milan, MI/Saline) is #41 in the country in terms of shot percentage. The Brewers are also Top 100 in eight team categories including a #11 assists per game and a #18 points per game.

Dish It
The Brewers are #11 in the nation averaging 8.88 assists per game. They are tied with Aurora and are behind such schools as Ohio Wesleyan, Denison and Carthage as well as the top team in the country and Liberty League opponent, Rochester Institute of Technology. In terms of individuals, the Brewers have five players ranked in the Top 250. In order: Herman, Parson, junior Scott Brekne (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville), Brazier and Cederna.

Seeing a lot of 10's Here
Moriarty and Brazier both have 10 goals and 10 assists while Cederna also adds 10 helpers of his own. T.J. Morrow (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) has 10 ground balls and Austin Haymes (Palm Beach Gardens, FL/William T Dwyer) has caused 10 turnovers. 10 players have played in all 10 games with at least one start.

Up Next
The Brewers will next host the #1 team in the country in Division III and the Liberty League, the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers on Saturday, April 12 at 12:00 pm. The field of play has yet to be determined. Depending on the weather, the game will either be on Gordon Field or neighboring Weinberg Turf Field.
