FREDERICKSBURG, VA (February 16, 2013) – The Vassar College men's tennis team fell 6-3 to nationally ranked No. 21 University of Mary Washington Saturday afternoon during the Mary Washington Tournament.

Vassar No. 1 senior Andrew Guzick defeated Alex Blakhin in two sets, 6-4, 6-4 and teamed with senior No. 2 Dan Freeman to defeat Donato Rizzolo and Evan Charles, 8-4.

The loss sets the Brewers at a record of 3-2 and will next play No. 17 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University tomorrow during the final day of the tournament at 9:00 am. Mary Washington will face nationally ranked No. 12 North Carolina Wesleyan College tomorrow.

Senior Nick Jasso and freshman Daniel Cooper picked up the other win for the Brewers against the Mary Washington No. 2 team of Tyler Carey and Kaleb Nguyen. Cooper made a good run against Will Apperson at the No. 4 spot in the lineup but fell, 6-4, 6-3. Jasso dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to No. 3 Charles.
The Brewers faced North Carolina Wesleyan in the later match Saturday. Results to follow…
