Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) has been named the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week in Men's Tennis it was announced Monday afternoon. Lee scores his first Liberty League honor of the season with Monday's citation.
Lee went a perfect 3-0 playing out of the first singles position to close out the team's Spring Break visit to Orlando, FL. Lee scored a 6-2, 6-3 victory to open the week against Trinity (CT) and added a hard fought 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4) win against #36 Southwestern. To finish off the trip Lee clinched Vassar's 4-3 win over #37 Franklin and Marshall with a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) triumph.
Following three wins last week for the Brewers, Lee stands at 5-2 through seven spring decisions and leads the Vassar in singles victories. Lee begins the new week and heads into conference play this weekend with the third most wins at the top singles flight in the Liberty League.
At 6-5 overall on the season, Vassar opens Liberty League play on Sunday when it visits Ithaca.
