Orlando, FL – The Vassar College Men's Tennis team closed its stay in Florida Thursday morning with an impressive 4-3 win over #37 Franklin & Marshall at the USTA National Campus. The Brewers won four singles matches in the victory with
Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) clinching the win with a first singles triumph.
Vassar heads back north with a 6-5 overall record following Thursday's victory.
Doubles
- The Diplomats opened a 1-0 lead in the match after taking 6-2 decisions at both the first and second doubles slots.
- Vassar's third pairing of Lee and Jonas Santos (Las Vegas, NV) moved to 5-2 on the season after outlasting their opponents from Franklin & Marshall 7-6 (7-4).
Singles
- Vassar controlled he bottom half of the lineup in the victory, winning at the fourth, fifth and sixth positions.
- Santos moved up to the fourth position for the second time this spring and earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory for the Brewers.
- Shrey Choudhary (Farmington, CT) improved to 3-1 in singles play for Vassar after scoring a 6-3, 6-2 win at the fifth position.
- Joaquin Gil (Brooklyn, NY) won for the second time in three spring decisions on Thursday after battling to a hard fought 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5) victory at the sixth position.
- Lee clinched the win for Vassar with a tough triumph at the top flight. Lee posted his team leading fifth singles win of the spring after registering a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) win for Vassar.

- Vassar returns north and opens Liberty League play on March 29 at Ithaca.
