Danny Holt (Rochester, MI) has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week in Men's Lacrosse it was revealed Monday afternoon.
Holt was a force for Vassar in Liberty League contests against RPI and Skidmore, going 34-for-44 in face-offs, a .773 win percentage, to go along with 22 groundballs.
Holt opened the week going 19-for-23 in face-offs while adding 13 groundballs in a tight 13-11 road loss at RPI and followed that up with a 15-for-21 performance with nine more groundballs on Saturday against Skidmore.
Through play on the weekend, Holt ranks third in the Liberty League in face-off win percentage (.618) and total wins (141) and sits in a tie for the league lead in groundballs per game (7.55).
At 5-6 overall on the season and 1-3 against league rivals, Vassar returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Union.
