Troy, NY – Vassar College First Year goalie Jess Geoghagan (Mercer Island, WA) has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week in Men's Lacrosse the conference office revealed on Monday. The honor is the first of Geoghagan's career and it marks the second straight week a Brewer has been recognized following Tate Tinker's Offensive Performer of the Week citation last week.
 
Geoghagan finished a two-game stretch with 37 saves and four groundballs, playing 90 of a possible 120:00 between the pipes for the Brewers.
 
Geoghagan made his collegiate debut on Wednesday at #17/16 Wesleyan and made 30 saves for the Brewers to go along with three groundballs. The save total was the third highest at Vassar since the start of the 2005 season. To round out the week, Geoghan made seven more saves and collected a groundball in 30:00 of action in a 16-7 win against Clark on Saturday.
 
Among the league leaders, Geoghagan enters the new week ranked second in the conference in save percentage (.638) and is the league leader in saves per game (18.50).
 
At 2-2 overall on the season, Vassar returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Williams.
