Tate Tinker (Lenington, KY) has been named the Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week in Men's Lacrosse it was announced Monday afternoon. The honor is the first in Tinker's career and the first Offensive Performer of the Week honor for the Brewers since Troy Santise was recognized on March 25, 2004.
Tinker helped power the Brewers to an 18-13 win over Oneonta in Vassar's home opener on Saturday. Tinker led the Vassar scoring attack with seven points on the strength of three goals and four assists, including a helper on the eventual game winning goal. Tinker added a groundball and a caused turn over in the win for the Brewers.
Tinker ranks second on the team in scoring through two games, producing nine points on five goals and four assists. Among the league leaders to date, Tinker ranks sixth in both assists per game (2.00) and points per game (4.50).
At 1-1 overall on the season, Vassar travels to #6/6 Wesleyan on Wednesday.
