Four Brewers Medal on Day One of the Liberty League Outdoor Championships

Hanrahan breaks her own hammer throw record, Stevens sits in first place in the heptathlon

Rochester, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team opened the two-day Liberty League Outdoor Championships on Friday as four different Brewers earned podium finishes along with five Vassar student-athletes qualifying for tomorrow's finals. The Brewers sit in fifth place out of eight conference foes after the first day of competition.

Heptathlon
  • Senior Faye Stevens sits in first place after the first four events with 2411 points.
    • 100 Meter Hurdles - Stevens raced to a third place finish with a time of 16.33.
    • 200 Meters - Stevens earned a first place finish with a new PR of 26.62.
    • Shot Put - Stevens was sixth overall with a top toss of 8.26 meters.
    • High Jump - Stevens finished tied for the top height of 1.46 meters.
  • First year Elana Pukel ranks eighth after day one with 2008 points.
    • 100 Meter Hurdles - Pukel earned a fourth place finish with a new PR of 16.54.
    • 200 Meters - Pukel finished 10th overall with a new personal-best time of 29.25.
    • Shot Put - Pukel tallied a second place finish with a personal-best of 8.54 meters.
    • High Jump - Pukel scored an eighth place finish with a mark of 1.28 meters.
100 Meter Hurdles
  • Junior Jahmilia Dennis qualified for tomorrow's finals with a fourth place finish with a time of 14.81.
  • Junior Freja Niklasson finished ninth overall with a time of 15.78 and Stevens was 10th in 16.57.
400 Meters
  • First year Lianna Camille posted a sixth place finish to qualify for tomorrow's finals with a personal-best mark of 59.85
100 Meters 400 Meter Hurdles
  • Niklasson scored an eighth place finish to qualify for tomorrow's finals with a time of 1:12.46.
800 Meters
  • First year Lizzie Lowe qualified for tomorrow's final with a fourth place finish with a career-best time of 2:17.62.
  • Sophomore Adelaide Nyhan also posted an eighth place finish to qualify for tomorrow's final with a mark of 2:18.69.
  • Sophomore Norah Reade scored a ninth place finish with a strong time of 2:19.07 along with senior Sophia Henderson tallying a 12th place finish with a time of 2:22.23.
Hammer Throw
  • First year Amanda Hanrahan broke her own school record with a toss of 44.23 meters to finish fifth overall in the finals.
  • Senior Soliel Yuong tallied a 16th place finish with a career-best mark of 35.56 meters and junior Kolby Davis scoring a 20th place finish at a personal-best 33.05 meters.
  • First year Meara Morgan recorded a top-25 finish with a toss of 26.63 meters.
Long Jump
  • Dennis advanced to the finals and earned a seventh place finish with a top leap of 5.16 meters.
  • Eu recorded an 11th place finish with a mark of 5.00 meters followed by Stevens with a top-15 finish at 4.97 meters.
  • Junior Sydney Passley-Harris recorded a top-20 finish with a jump of 4.87 meters along with D'Auria finishing in the top-20 with a PR of 4.85 meters.
Javelin Throw
  • Yuong recorded a career-best mark of 29.39 meters for a 12th place finish while Pukel recorded a 16th place finish with a toss of 25.79 meters.
200 Meters
  • Camille collected an 11th place finish with a personal-best time of 26.09 along with D'Auria scoring a top-20 finish with a personal-best time of 26.81.
3000 Meter Steeplechase
  • Sophomore Acadia Helfand earned a fifth place finish with a regional qualifying time of 11:36.12 to land on the podium.
  • First year Sophia Marchioli collected a ninth place mark with a time of 12:03.62.
10,000 Meters
  • Sophomore Cayley Swaim earned a podium finish with a career-best time of 38:50.80 along with first year Chloe Bibula getting on the podium with an eighth place finish in a personal-best time of 39:32.43.
  • Senior Sophie Farr crossed the finish line with a mark of 43:49.39.
