Canton, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team earned its highest program finish at the Liberty League Outdoor Championships as the Brewers finished third out of eight conference foes on Saturday at St. Lawrence.
Junior
Haley Schoenegge was named the Track Performer of the Meet after winning the 800 meters, 1500 meters and 5000 meters while the 4x100 relay squad set the school record on its way to a first place finish.
Heptathlon
- Sophomore Elana Pukel - 5th of 12 (3702)
- Pukel finished fifth overall with a career-best 3702 points, led by a first place finish in the javelin throw at a personal-best 31.01 meters.
- The sophomore added a seventh place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.64 meters and a ninth place finish in the 800 meters with a career-best time of 2:44.28.
- Senior Freja Niklasson - 9th of 12 (3443)
- Niklasson earned a ninth place finish with 3443 points as she placed eighth overall in the javelin with a career-best mark of 18.76 meters.
- Niklasson notched a ninth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.40 meters followed by a 10th place finish in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:47.04.
4x100 Relay
1500 Meters
- Schoenegge began her career day with a title in the 1500 meters behind a time of 4:36.83, outpacing the next finisher by almost seven seconds.
100 Meter Hurdles
- Senior Jahmilia Dennis recorded a podium finish in sixth place overall with a time of 14.95.
Shot Put
- Senior Ava Gurley tallied a 17th place finish with a top toss of 9.44 meters followed by sophomore Amanda Hanrahan in 19th position at 8.80 meters.
- Sophomore Meara Morgan added a top-20 finish with a mark of 8.69 meters.
400 Meters
- Sophomore Skylar Spiro raced to a seventh place podium finish with a time of 59.60.
100 Meters
- D'Auria earned a podium finish on a fourth place tally following a time of 12.24 while Camille was eighth overall on the podium in 12.57.
Triple Jump
- Dennis earned Second Team honors after finishing second overall with a top leap of 11.60 meters.
- First year Ruthie Weiss garnered a fourth place finish with a personal-best leap of 11.02 meters to reach the podium along with D'Auria posting a fifth place finish with a distance of 10.96 meters.
- Camille also reached the finals and the podium with a seventh place finish at 10.85 meters.
- Eu registered a 14th place finish with a top mark of 10.13 meters.
800 Meters
- Schoenegge earned her second win of the day following a meet record time of 2:10.93, which ranks 19th overall in Division III this season.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Lowe garnered All-Liberty League Honorable Mention honors following a third place finish with a time of 2:16.41.
400 Meter Hurdles
- First year Perri Koo recorded a podium finish behind a personal-best time of 1:12.11 to place eighth overall.
High Jump
- Niklasson finished tied for fourth overall with a top height of 1.47 meters followed by Weiss in 11th position at 1.47 meters.
- Junior Abigail Sasson notched a 13th place finish at 1.37 meters followed by senior Abbe Colgan in 14th position at 1.37 meters.
200 Meters
- D'Auria raced to All-League Honorable Mention honors with a third place finish in 25.07 followed by Camille in ninth place with a time of 26.14.
Discus Throw
- Senior Sydney Petrie notched Second Team honors after recording a second place finish with a top throw of 39.93 meters.
- Morgan posted an 11th place finish with a top toss of 32.69 meters along with Hanrahan adding a 13th place finish at 31.95 meters.
- First year Anna Johnson tallied a top-20 finish at 29.89 meters followed by Gurley in the top-20 at personal-best 29.27 meters.
5000 Meters
- Schoenegge completed her incredible day with a first place finish with a time of 16:50.63, outpacing the closest finisher by over 18 seconds.
- Senior Anika Mueller-Hickler scored All-Conference accolades behind a third place finish in 17:32.97 while sophomore Chloe Bibula notched a fourth place podium finish with a time of 17:37.73.
- Sophomore Hadley Snell crossed the finish line in 15th place in 18:22.57 followed by senior Nora Goldberg-Courtney in 18th position with a time of 18:53.79.
- First year Cate Feudtner rounded out the Vassar finishers with a 22nd place finish with a time of 19:15.43.
4x400 Relay
- The relay quartet of D'Auria, Lowe, Camille and Spiro secured Honorable Mention status following a third place finish with a season-best time of 4:04.18.
