Women's Track and Field Excels at the Vassar Invite Senior Day Meet

Brewers post new personal-best times, Vassar earns multiple first place finishes

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at the Vassar April Twilight meet with the Brewers seeing numerous new personal-bests record and first place finishes in multiple different events.

4x100 Relay 3000 Meter Steeplechase
  • First year Sophia Marchioli broke her personal-best with a time of 11:57.94 for a fourth place finish.
100 Meter Hurdles
  • Dennis scored a second place finish with a time of 16.57 followed by junior Freja Niklasson in third in 16.92 and first year Elana Pukel in fourth with a time of 17.00.
100 Meters
  • D'Auria secured a third place finish with a time of 12.97 along with first year Mason Wilkins-Lanier finishing 10th with a time of 13.75.
  • Senior Lily Falkowski turned in a 13th place finish with a time of 13.83.
1500 Meters
  • Sophomore Norah Reade took home the first place finish with a new PR of 4:39.19 and sophomore Adelaide Nyhan was second overall with a time of 4:45.33.
  • First year Lizzie Lowe was third overall with a mark of 4:49.28 followed by first year Sarah France in sixth place with a new personal record of 4:51.58.
  • Senior Noni Pattington earned a seventh place finish with a new PR of 4:55.72 and sophomore Acadia Helfand tallied a 11th place finish in 5:05.73.
800 Meters
  • Senior Sophia Henderson scored a second place finish with a season-best time of 2:19.89 while junior Margaret McLaughlin finished ninth overall with a new personal-best time of 2:31.62.
400 Meter Hurdles
  • Senior Faye Stevens earned a first place finish with a time of 1:07.94 while Niklasson finished third overall with a time of 1:11.53.
400 Meters
  • Sophomore Maya Carey tallied an eighth place finish with a time of 1:05.38.
200 Meters
  • Senior Laura Wong posted a top-15 finish with a time of 28.91 while Wilkins-Lanier was in the top-20 with a mark of 29.81.
  • Pukel set a new personal-best with a time of 29.90 along with Falkowski recording a season-best time of 29.97.
5000 Meters
  • Sophomore Cayley Swaim was the top Division III finisher with a new PR of 18:17.59 along with first year Hadley Snell recording a new personal-best time of 18:41.16 for a sixth place finish.
  • First year Chloe Bibula scored a seventh place finish with a time of 19:00.95 while senior Sophie Farr scored a new season-best time of 19:53.17.
High Jump
  • Niklasson reached a top height of 1.38 meters for a third place finish along with Benfante recording a season-best 1.33 meters.
  • Junior Abbe Colgan also competed for the Brewers.
Long Jump
  • Stevens scored a third place finish with a leap of 5.32 meters for a strong Division III national qualifying distance.
  • Junior Jamie Eu earned a fourth place finish with a leap of 5.10 meters and junior Sydney Passley-Harris posted a season-best mark of 5.02 meters to finish fifth overall.
  • First year Elana Pukel set a new personal-best with a mark of 4.81 meters along with classmate Mason Wilkins-Lanier recording a new PR with a leap of 4.53 meters.
Triple Jump
  • Camille finished in second position with a new personal-best leap of 10.23 meters.
Discus Throw
  • Junior Sydney Petrie was victorious with a top toss of 37.92 meters followed by Yuong in third place at 31.43 meters.
  • Morgan set a new PR with a throw of 30.01 meters for a fifth place finish along with junior Ava Gurley recording a new personal-best at 28.40 meters.
  • Hanrahan finished 10th overall with a toss of 27.00 meters.
Hammer Throw
  • First year Amanda Hanrahan broke her own personal and school record mark with a toss of 42.33 meters for a first place finish.
  • Senior Soleil Yuong finished third overall with a top mark of 30.92 meters and first year Meara Morgan was fourth overall at 29.99 meters.
Javelin Throw
  • Yuong finished third with a toss of 26.47 meters while Morgan was fourth overall with a distance of 23.63 meters.
  • Sophomore Jillian Benfante registered a sixth place finish with a mark of 16.24 meters.
Shot Put
  • Junior Kolby Davis tallied a second place finish at 9.93 meters followed by Hanrahan in seventh place with a mark of 9.56 meters.
  • Gurley registered another PR with a mark of 8.71 meters for a ninth place finish along with Morgan earning an 11th place mark at 8.09 meters.

  • Vassar will travel to RIT for the two-day Liberty League Outdoor Championships beginning on Friday.
