Field Hockey Garners Three NFHCA All-Region III Selections

Beseth earns First Team selection, Hoffman and Rosenblum tallied Second Team honors

Colorado Springs, CO - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its All-Region selections on Wednesday morning as Vassar College Field Hockey senior midfielder Sofia Beseth was tabbed an All-Region III First Team selection along with junior Karina Hoffman and sophomore Sophie Rosenblum were named to the Second Team.

Beseth earns her first career All-Region nod after earning her third All-League selection and was tabbed an All-Liberty League First Team honoree for the first time in her career. Beseth produced seven goals, a career-high four assists and 18 points in her senior season where she was named a Honorable Mention selection in 2022 as a sophomore followed by a Second Team selection as a junior last season and was also named to the NFHCA Senior Team.

Beseth also scored the game-winning goal in a 4-0 victory over Kean, which gave her six for her career and ties her for fourth all-time in Vassar program history. Beseth also is sixth all-time in goals with 23, tied for 10th in Vassar program history in points with 53 and ranks in the top-10 in points per game at 0.78.

Rosenblum, who was tabbed All-Region for the first time, earned her first All-Liberty League selection as a First Team honoree where she helped anchor the backline of the defense which allowed just 23 goals in 19 games. Rosenblum has started all 38 games in her career to date for the Brewers and recorded her first career defensive save in a 1-0 victory over New Paltz.

Hoffman, who also was named All-Region for the first time, earned her first career All-Liberty League honor after being named Second Team following a career-high 10 goals, a career-high five assists and a career-high 25 points. Hoffman closed the final five games of the season with six goals and an assist and was named the Liberty League Championship's Most Outstanding Performer after scoring three goals and recording an assist in the two conference postseason matches. Hoffman's 10 goals this season ranks her tied for seventh all-time in a single season and her 25 points ranks her eighth all-time in a single season.

The Brewers closed the season at 13-7 overall and 5-2 in Liberty League regular season matchups and won the program's first Liberty League crown since 2021 and returned to the NCAA Championship for the third time in program history.
