Hartford, CT – The Vassar College Women's Rowing team opened the fall schedule on Sunday, competing in the Head of the Riverfront in Hartford, CT. The Novice 8 boat led the way for the Brewers with a fifth-place finish.

Marina Bowers-Wong (Urbana, IL),
Myra McNaughton (Springfield, VT),

Mary Winn (Alexandria, VA) completed the course in a time of 14:35.742.
Vassar also had two varsity 4 boats compete on Sunday with the unit of
Isabella Zumbolo (North Oaks, MN),
Bridgette Nally (Chapel Hill, NC),
Sitota Blomquist (River Forest, IL),
Rena Badami (Ojai, CA) and coxswain
Celeste Hall (Brooklyn, NY) racing to a time of 15:29.218, good for 14
th place.
The boat consisting of
Lily Littrell (Milwaukee, WI), Repovic,
Madeleine Stewart (Greenville, NY),
Naya Taylor (San Francisco, CA) and coxswain
Taylor Frazier (Roanoke, VA) followed in the 18
th position with a time of 16:50.918.
Vassar's entry on Sunday also featured a pair of mixed 8 boats with the boat of
Dorien Laurens (Atlanta, GA), Badami, Lepmets, Jasper Piermarini, Parick Horiszny, Trygve Aarestad, Hogan Fletchner and coxswain
Frances Dunn (Saratoga Springs, NY) leading the way with a runner-up finish in a time of 14:35.483.
The second mixed boat of Thomas Sporte (Oakland, CA), Blomquist, Nally, Conrad Nokes, Henry France, Patrick Cincotti, Robert Gee and coxswain
Sofia DeRose (Hoboken, NJ) followed closely in third place, racing to a time of 15:11.482.
Vassar continues the fall season October 17-19 when it travels to Boston for the Head of the Charles.
