POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Vassar College Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Susan Higgins has announced two new hires for 2024-25 as Emma Meore has been hired as the new Associate Head Athletic Trainer along with Emma Davis being named the new Assistant Athletic Trainer. Meore will join the staff following a two-year stint at John Jay Cross River High School in Katonah, NY while Davis joins following a one-year stint with Goldsboro Physical Therapy at the University of Mount Olive.
Meore comes to Poughkeepsie following her time as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at John Jay-CR, where she assisted over 24 sports programs and provided strength and conditioning services to student athletes.

Before her time at John Jay Cross River, Meore spent a year at the United States Military Academy at West Point where she was an Assistant Athletic Trainer for to the women's volleyball and softball teams during the 2021-22 season. Meore also assisted with the men's gymnastics and football squads in the spring of 2021.

Meore spent time at the University of Buffalo in 2020 with the track and field team and the 2019 season at UB with the football team. She also has clinical exposure at UBMD Orthopaedics and Nichols School in Buffalo, NY.

Meore graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in May 2020 before going on to earn her Master of Science in Athletic Training in May 2021.

She is a BOC certified athletic trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association. She currently holds certifications in Sound Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization, CPR/AED, First Aid and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Davis comes to Poughkeepsie following her time at Goldsboro PT where she provided service and coverage to Division II men's lacrosse, men's soccer, women's basketball, men's volleyball and men's and women's golf at Mount Olive. Davis was responsible for managing the student interns and their schedules along with utilizing Sportsware to maintain all necessary documentation of injuries, treatments, rehab sessions and all other paperwork.
Davis also assisted with the inventory and overall organization of the Athletic Training facility and helped develop the sports medicine policies. She also coordinated proper referrals and maintained an open line of communication with physicians, physical therapists, coaches, student-athletes and administrators.
Prior to working with Mount Olive, Davis was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Mercyhurst University from 2021-23 and worked with the men's soccer, women's lacrosse and women's rowing programs. She utilized ATS to maintain proper documentation of all injuries, treatment and rehab sessions along with assisting in completing pre-participation examinations for over 700 student-athletes. Davis also aided in educating student-athletes on injury prevention and care along with facilitating proper referrals and institutional drug testing
Davis also worked for the Erie Commodores Football Club in 2022 where she provided Athletic Training Services for the National Premier Soccer League Men's team and the United Women's Soccer League team.
Davis graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training with a minor in Public Health. Davis went on to earn her Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership in 2023 from Mercyhurst University.
