Vassar Athletics Completes Record-Breaking Day Of Giving

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Department of Athletics and Physical Education, in conjunction with the Office of Advancement, held its eighth crowd-funding challenge, #Give2Brew, on October 13-14. This year's challenge was 29 hours, running from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13 until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14 where #Give2Brew raised more than $810,000, a record-setting mark for the Day of Giving.

The initial goal of 2,400 donors was reached at 7:49 p.m. on Tuesday evening, triggering a $10,000 donation to the Brewers Fund courtesy of President Bradley and her husband John.  Alums Elias Kim '16 and Brian Farkas '10 stepped in to create stretch goals and keep the momentum going, helping the programs to finish with an incredible 3,500+ gifts from 44 states and 19 countries.

Vassar alums Winston Clement '09 and Elizabeth Greenstein Clement '09 generously made a gift of $20,000 to support Athletics and the Brewers Fund. Each program received a $1,000 bonus when they achieved their donor goal.

The success of the challenge would not have been possible without the generous support of Vassar parents, alums and friends over the past 29 hours. Vassar Director of Athletics and Physical Education Michelle Walsh upon completion of the #Give2Brew campaign said, "We extend our gratitude to everyone who supported Vassar student-athletes today. Donor generosity plays a vital role in empowering our student-athletes to pursue and achieve excellence in athletic competition, academic endeavors, and service to our broader campus community."
