Women's Track and Field Finishes Third at Ramapo College Invitational

MAHWAH, NJ - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team earned a strong third place finish at the Ramapo College Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Brewers finished with 94 points against 16 total scoring teams.

1500-Meters 100-Meter Hurdles
  • Senior Nora Jensen and sophomore Freja Niklasson qualified for the finals in the 100 meter hurdles as Jensen posted a time of 17.17 and Niklasson crossed the finish line in 17.55.
  • Niklasson finished fourth overall with a time of 16.79 and Jensen was fifth in 16.90.
100-Meters
  • Senior Ava Novak qualified for the finals by posting a fourth place finish in the first round in a time of 12.83.
  • Sophomore Jahmilia Dennis was 13th in 13.31 followed by sophomore Jamie Eu in 13.46 and classmate Sydney Passley-Harris with a time of 13.68.
  • Junior Lily Falkowski crossed the finish line with a time of 13.84.
  • Novak scored a third place finish in the finals with a time of 12.81.
400-Meters
  • First year Maya Carey scored a sixth place finish with a time of 1:05.92 while sophomore Emma Sandrew was 17th in 1:14.08.
800-Meters
  • First year Norah Reade and junior Sophia Henderson finished back-to-back in second and third place, respectively, as Reade posted a time of 2:23.05 and Henderson crossed the line in 2:23.69.
  • Senior Jordan Norman scored a sixth place finish with a time of 2:26.69 along with sophomore Isabelle Borgstedt posting a time of 2:47.82.
200-Meters
  • Novak continued their strong day with a seventh place finish with a time of 25.89 while Eu finished 18th in 28.17.
  • First year Abigail Sasson posted a time of 29.46 and Falkowski crossed the finish line in 29.93.
4x400 Relay
  • The quartet of Carey, Novak, Reade and first year Ava Whitney tallied a fourth place finish with a time of 4:18.65.
Discus Throw
  • Junior Soleil Young qualified for the finals and finished sixth overall with a throw of 32.50 meters.
  • Sophomore Ava Gurley finished 13th overall with a distance of 25.70 meters.
Long Jump
  • Passley-Harris qualified for the finals and recorded a sixth place finish with a leap of 5.22 meters.
  • Dennis finished 12th overall at 4.76 meters along with Eu in 14th with a distance of 4.67 meters.
High Jump
  • Sasson finished 11th overall at 1.42 meters while first year Jillian Benfante leaped over the 1.32 meter mark.
