CANTON, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field began the first day of the Liberty League Indoor Track and Field Championships with a strong effort as the Brewers currently sit fourth out of eight teams following the first day of events at St. Lawrence.

Pentathlon

• Junior Faye Stevens took home a second place finish in the pentathlon, finishing with 2890 points.
• Stevens was the top finisher in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.54 along with a fourth place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.38 meters.
• Stevens posted a fourth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 7.72 meters followed by a first place finish with a leap of 6.67 meters in the long jump.
• The junior closed the event with a second place finish in the 800-meters with a time of 2:33.37.

Mile

• First year Haley Schoenegge started off action on the track with a second place finish in the mile with an new school record and NCAA qualifying list time of 4:59.64.
• First year Norah Reade earned a top-10 finish with an AARTFC time of 5:13.89 for a 10th place overall finish.

60-Meter Hurdles

• Sophomore Jahmilia Dennis was victorious in heat three to earn an automatic qualification into tomorrow's finals with an AARTFC time of 9.29.
• Senior Nora Jensen finished seventh overall to also earn a spot into tomorrow's finals in 9.58.
• Sophomore Freja Niklasson scored a 12th place finish with a time of 9.82 and Stevens was top-15, crossing the finish line in 9.87.

60-Meters

• Senior Ava Novak and junior Traci Francis both qualified for tomorrow's finals as Novak finished fifth overall in an AARTFC time of 8.00 while Francis was seventh with a time of 8.10.
• Sophomore Jamie Eu posted a time of 8.29 to finish 13th overall.

400-Meters

• Sophomore Maddie Busam crossed the finish line with a time of 1:16.19 for a 16th place finish.

5000-Meters

• Sophomore Anika Mueller-Hickler posted a fifth place finish in the 5000-meters with an AARTFC time of 18:37.75.
• First year Cayley Swaim tallied a 12th place finish with a time of 19:23.12 along with junior Lily Shimpach and sophomore Nora Goldberg-Courtney recording top-20 finishes as Shimpach crossed the finish line in 19:36.20 and Goldberg-Courtney posted a time of 19:37.93.
• First year Acadia Helfand posted a time of 20:04.34 to round out the Vassar finishers.

Distance Medley

• The quartet of junior Sophia Henderson, senior Jordan Norman, Reade and first year Addie Nyhan raced to a fourth place finish in an AARTFC time of 13:03.98.

Shot Put

• Junior Soleil Yuong posted a 16th place finish with a toss of 9.46 meters for the Brewers.

Long Jump

• Sophomore Jahmilia Dennis earned a third place finish with a mark of 5.20 meters in the finals along with senior Ava Novak finishing fifth with a leap of 5.10 meters.
• Stevens recorded a eighth place finish in the finals with a distance of 4.95 meters while sophomore Sydney Passley-Harris was 13th at 4.85 meters and Eu was 14th at 4.70 meters.
