Men's Track and Field Begins Indoor Season at the West Point Crowell Open

Mayer scores first place finish in the 3000-meters

WEST POINT, NY - The Vassar College Men's Track and Field team opened up the 2023-24 season with its first meet at the West Point Crowell Open on Saturday as senior Aidan Mayer led the way with a first place finish in the 3000-meters.

Pentathlon
  • Junior Max Bergman - 5th place
    • Bergman scored third place finishes in the high jump (1.67 meters), shot put (9.65 meters) and the 1000-meters (3:15.03).
60M Hurdles
  • Junior Jae Young Seo qualified for the finals with an eighth place finish in the preliminaries (9.24) and finished sixth overall in 9.32.
  • First year Joshua Garraway finished 13th overall in time of 11.86.
60 Meters
  • First year TJ Usher tallied a 26th overall finish in 7.41 along with sophomore Jacob Sellitti placing 32nd with a time of 7.51.
1 Mile
  • Junior Jackson Bernreuter was the top Division III finisher, scoring a third place finish in 4:31.59 along with classmate Levi Lilienthal crossing the finish line in sixth overall with a time of 4:36.97.
1000 Meters
  • Junior Tim Buchan recorded the top Division III finish with a second place finish with a time of 2:32.49 followed by senior Tim Jacques in third overall in 2:35.19.
200 Meters
  • Sellitti finished 18th overall with a time of 24.77.
3000 Meters
  • Mayer earned a first place finish with a time of 8:37.87 followed by junior Jose Magana scoring a second place finish in 8:42.72.
  • Buchan tallied a 10th place finish in 9:12.49 along with Lilienthal in 12th overall with a time of 9:32.33.
4x400 Relay
  • The team of Bergman, Usher, Jacques and Carraway crossed the finish line in seventh place in 3:39.37.
Long Jump
  • Young Seo posted a 13th place finish with a mark of 5.24 meters.
Shot Put
  • First year Adam Finnimore scored a 15th place finish with a distance of 10.97 meters.
UP NEXT
  • Vassar is off until the Blue and Orange Invite at Utica University on January 26th and 27th.
