Track and Field Begins 2025-26 Slate at the Armory, West Point Crowell Open

Vassar will host its annual home meet on Saturday, April 25

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams will begin the 2025-26 campaign this weekend as the Brewers will travel to the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival on Friday along with the West Point Crowell Open on Saturday.

WOMEN'S TEAM AT A GLANCE
  • The Brewers finished fourth at both the Liberty League Indoor and Outdoor Championships last season with 13 student-athletes earning All-Liberty League recognition.
  • Three-time National Champion junior Haley Schoenegge returns after scoring the national title in the indoor mile along with scoring back-to-back 1500 meters outdoor national titles. She has also been anmed the Regional Track Athlete of the Year three times in her career along with earning her second straight Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet honor at the Liberty League Outdoor Championships. She currently holds seven individual school records and is part of the school record Distance Medley Relay.
  • Senior Jahmilia Dennis returns as the six-time reigning Liberty League Triple Jump champion and earned her second All-American honor in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Dennis was named the Liberty League Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year along with the Indoor Co-Field Athlete of the Year honor.
  • Vassar also returns All-League selections in junior Adelaide Nyhan, sophomore Elizabeth Lowe and junior Acadia Helfand.
  • The Brewers also welcome back discus record holder Sydney Petrie along with indoor shot put, indoor weight throw and outdoor hammer throw school record holder Amanda Hanrahan.
  • The Brewers will look to replace All-Liberty League honorees in Faye Stevens and Sophia Henderson from a season ago.
NEWCOMERS MEN'S TEAM AT A GLANCE
  • Vassar recorded a seventh place finish at both the Liberty League Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships last season.
  • VC returns Liberty League 800 meters and AARTFC Regional outdoor champion Sean Miller, who also earned Indoor Second Team All-American honors in the 800 meters to mark the first indoor All-American in Vassar history.
  • Miller currently owns three indoor school records and is part of the 4x400 meter relay school record squad.
  • Vassar will look to replace All-League honoree Max Bergman who also holds the school records in the indoor heptathlon, indoor and outdoor long jump and indoor high jump along with indoor mile and outdoor 1500 meters school record holder Jose Magana.
  • The Brewers also return its top two sprinters in senior Jacob Sellitti and sophomore Ryan Fernandes and 500 meters school record holder Josh Garraway
NEWCOMERS THE SCHEDULE
  • Following the opening indoor weekend at the Armory and West Point, the Brewers will head to the Wesleyan Indoor Invite on January 24.
  • January 30-31 marks the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University along with the Bomber Invitational at Ithaca before opening February with the Blue and Orange Invite at Utica on February 6-7.
  • Vassar will then head to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at BU on February 13-14 along with the NYU DIII Invite at the Armory on February 14.
  • The West Point Tune-Up on February 21 will mark the final meet before the Liberty League Indoor Championships at RIT on February 27 and 28.
  • The AARTFC Indoor Championships will be at the Armory on March 6 and 7 followed by the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, AL on March 13 and 14.
  • Vassar's outdoor season will begin on March 21 at Wesleyan followed by the Ramapo Invite on March 27 and 28.
  • The Brewers will begin April at the CGA Spring Invitational in Connecticut before heading to the RPI Under the Lights Invitational on April 10 and 11.
  • VC will make the short trek to Marist on April 18 followed by the Penn Relays on April 23 and 24.
  • The Brewers will then host the Vassar Spring Invite on April 25 as the final meet before the conference championships.
  • The Liberty League Outdoor Championships will take place on May 1 and 2 at St. Lawrence.
  • Vassar will take part in the Ramapo Last Chance meet on May 8 before heading to the AARTFC Outdoor Championships at Ursinus on May 13 and 14.
  • The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will run from May 21-23 on the campus of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
