2022 All-Liberty League First Team - 3,000-meter steeplechase

MAYER CAREER HISTORY

2022: At the Washington & Lee Carnival... Placed second in the 5k (15:02.29)... Ran a personal best 2:00.33 in the 800-meter... Won the 3,000-steeplechase at the Ramapo Invitational with a time of 9:35.45... At the Vassar College Invite... Was third in the 1,500 with a personal record 4:00.38... Took second in the 3,000-steeplechase (9:40.43) at the Silfen Invitational... Second in the 1,500-meter at the Farley Invite with a time of 4:01.16... Ran a personal best 14:50.02 at Penn Relays... Broke the meet and school record at the Liberty League Championship 3,000-steeplechase with a time of 9:20.87... Took seventh at the AARTFC Championships (9:23.46).  

2021: At the Vassar Triangular Meet ... Placed fifth in the 1500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:12.31 ... Earned fifth in the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:03.32 ... At the Liberty League East Championship ... Took sixth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:16.85 ... Was eighth overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.51 ...

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Varsity letterwinner in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track at Croton Harmon High School… Named cross country co-captain as a junior and senior… All-league in cross country (2017-19), indoor track (2018-19), and outdoor track (2018-19)… Personal bests of 4:44 in the 1,600-meter and 16:26 in the 5k.
 
PERSONAL: Mother is Jean Mayer… Member of the National Honors Society… Decided on Vassar because of the “Great opportunities in Astronomy. My overnight visit clinched it - the overall vibe of the campus was positive and welcoming.”
