Riley McGrath was recognized as the Rookie of the Week in women's soccer. Her game-winning tally on Saturday helped lift the Brewers to their first win of the season.
McGrath played the hero in Vassar's 1-0 win at 10th-ranked Scranton on Saturday, coming off the bench with a long-arching shot in the 66th minute as the Brewers held off the Royals for their first win of 2022 and handing Scranton it's first loss. She also played 15 minutes in a tough 1-0 loss at Montclair State to open the week.
Through four games, McGrath has posted two shots, all on goal. She is currently tied for the team lead in goals (1) and points (2), having played 113 minutes thus far this season.
Vassar is currently 1-2-1 on the season and returns to the pitch on Wednesday when it hosts Western Connecticut State on Gordon Field. Game time is set for 4pm.
