NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced its All-Region honors and Vassar College student-athlete
Caeli Porette was recognized for her outstanding efforts. The junior was named to the All-Empire Region First Team, marking the second career First Team honor. They are one of 128 Division III players to garner First Team honors this season and is now eligible for consideration of All-American recognition.
A midfielder from Stony Point, NY, Porette led the Brewers in nearly every offensive category during the 2021 campaign. They owned a team-best 12 assists to go along with 21 goals (second on team), 33 points, 45 shots and 39 shots on goal – all team-high's. Porette also added a squad-best two game-winning goals and four free position tallies. Additionally, they added team-high numbers in ground balls (16), caused turnovers (10) and draw controls (41).
An All-Liberty Leageu First Team selection in both 2021 and 2019, Porette was the Liberty League Rookie of the Year as a freshman. No league or regional awards were presented in 2020 due to the pandemic. Over six games this season, Porette scored at least two goals in every contest with at least one assist, while also adding three or more draw controls in a game.
Porette currently ranks second in the Liberty League in points per game (5.50) and draw controls per game (6.83). They are third in assists per contest (2.00) and fourth in goals per game (3.50), while ranking fifth in shots per contest (7.50) and ground balls per game (2.67)., Additionally, they eighth in caused turnovers per (1.67). Among Division III's best, Porette ranks 28th in draws per game.
The Brewers concluded their shortened 2021 season with a 2-4 overall record.
