Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Lacrosse team dropped its second straight conference decision Saturday afternoon following a 15-8 home loss to visiting Rochester.
Liz Lange (Upton, MA) anchored the defense with five caused turnovers and
Tess Billings (Deerfield, IL) paced the offense with four goals.
Vassar slips to 5-2 overall and 0-2 in Liberty League play following Saturday's result, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 5-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 against conference foes.
How It Happed
- Vassar got off to a fast start on Saturday, scoring four of the first five goals of the game.
- Billings scored consecutive goals over the first five-and-a-half minutes to give Vassar a 2-0 advantage.
- After Rochester broke through with its first goal of the game, Sigrid Fredlund (Seattle, WA) and Elizabeth Burgess (Columbus, OH) scored just under four minutes apart to send Vassar to the second frame with a 4-1 advantage.
- Rochester would blank Vassar in the second quarter, outscoring the Brewers 4-0 heading into halftime.
- Sam Kinch scored a player-up goal at the 7:19 mark of the second frame to even the score at 4-4.

- The Yellow Jackets ripped off the next three goals and five of the final six in the game to claim the final seven-goal decision.
- Rochester outshot Vassar 22-10 after halftime and won 10 of the 15 second half draw controls.
For The Brewers
- Billings potted four more goals on Saturday and pushed her team lead in markers to 27 and points to 30.
- Burgess finished the day with a goal and an assist to go along with two draw controls.
- Amelia Poirier (Atherton, CA) assisted on two goals for the Brewers, collected three groundballs and forced two turnovers.
- Lange led the team with five forced miscues on Saturday and collected three groundballs.
- Kaltsas added a team-high three draw controls to her goal.
- Maddie Busam (Summit, NJ) had a busy day in goal, turning aside 13 shots and leading the team with four groundballs.
