POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The third-seeded Brewers (20-5, 14-4 Liberty) begin their championship run on Tuesday evening when they host six-seed Skidmore (9-16, 8-10 Liberty) at 6:30 p.m. in the AFC.

The team's met in last season's Liberty League Semifinals, with Skidmore posting the 60-45 win. The Thoroughbreds went on to win the Liberty League title after beating RIT 65-42. This season, the Brewers swept Skidmore in the regular season. First, winning 63-46 on Jan. 9 and then 55-51 on Feb. 6.

Sophie Nick (Denver, CO), Vassar's leading scorer and rebounder, averages 15.4 points and 9.6 boards a contest. She is third in the league in both scoring and rebounding and has been nearly automatic at the free throw line, going 82-of-84 (97.6 percent).
Isa Peczuh (Willington, CT) has been Vassar's primary three-point shooter. Averaging 12.5 points a game, Peczuh leads the Liberty League with 71 made three-pointers behind a 37.8 shooting percentage. As a team, Vassar leads the league with triples made (160) and three-point shooting percentage (33.4 percent).

Maddie Leong (Atascadero, CA) and
Ryan DeOrio (Collegeville, PA) have been the top playmakers this season. Leong leads the Brewers with 62 assists, while DeOrio has dished out 59.

The Thoroughbreds have won their last two games. First Skidmore defeated Clarkson 61-43 on Friday night and then beat St. Lawrence 52-58 on Saturday. For Skidmore, Jessica Centore averages 8.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists, while Taylor Ong tacks on 8.0 points and 7.8 boards a game. Centore also leads the team with 55 steals.

Tuesday night's winner will move into the Liberty League Semifinals to face No. 2 RIT. That game would be played in Ithaca, NY.
