POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 11, 2017) — The Vassar College men's lacrosse team (9-2, 2-1 Liberty) comes back home Gordon Field to face No. 8 St. Lawrence University on Saturday, April 15 at 1pm. Vassar is coming in to this game on a three-game win streak including two important Liberty League wins over Clarkson and RPI.

Last Time Out: Last week, the Brewers took down Liberty League opponent Clarkson University 10-9 in a thrilling back and forth contest. After starting with a 3-0 lead the Brewers allowed Clarkson to climb back into the game and eventually tie the score 9-9 with 22 seconds remaining in the 4
th quarter. Vassar answered back as freshman
Michael Mullen put the Brewers up for good with the game-winner with just four seconds remaining on the clock.
A Look at the Brewers (9-2, 2-1 LL):
· The now 20
th ranked Brewers were picked for the first time in their history to be ranked in the US Lacrosse Magazine Division III Top 20 Poll.
· Vassar currently sits tied for second in the Liberty League with St. Lawrence and Skidmore.
· Vassar is outscoring its opponents 108-78 on the season with an average margin of victory of 1.73 GPG
· The Brewers have been phenomenal in both man-up and man-down situations, scoring on 40% of their opportunities and allowing opponents to convert on only 16.7% of theirs.
· With a 5-0 record, Vassar has yet to lose on its home turf this season.
· Led by freshman
Matthew Lowery, the Brewers have been proficient in the faceoff circle winning 60.8% of the draws this year.
· Matthew Boyd is having a standout sophomore season in goal for the Brewers. He currently leads the Liberty League in both GAA (6.40) and SV% (.616).
· Vassar boasts an incredibly balanced attack as six different players have at least 11 goals on the season.
· The Brewers senior-led backline has been outstanding lately for the Brewers and has played a significant role in the immense success that Boyd is currently having in goal.
A Look at the Saints (9-1, 2-1 LL):
· The Saints are now currently ranked 8
th overall in the country according to the USILA Coaches poll.
· St. Lawrence's sole loss of they year came at the hands of RIT, the current No. 5 team in the country.
· Senior Conor Healy leads the team with 40 points and the league with 24 assists.
· Jamie DeNicola, Jordan Dow, and Andrew Jarrett are the main benefactors of Healy's pass first style as the three have 26, 21, and 18 goals on the season respectively.
· The Saints have yet to win an away game this season.
· St. Lawrence averages 13.30 goals per game and only allows 6.70 as they've been dominant on both ends of the field.
· Goalie Alex Terry is second in the league behind Boyd in GAA (7.21), yet only has a .516 SV%.
Against St. Lawrence All-Time: Vassar is just 1-15 all-time against the Saints. The squads' only win came by a score of 5-4 back in 2011.
Next Up: Vassar will head to Rochester, NY on April 22 to face-off against conference foe RIT.
