POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 8, 2017) — The Vassar College men's basketball team (5-16, 1-11 Liberty) hits the road this weekend to take on conference foes St. Lawrence University and Clarkson University. The Brewers will be competing at St. Lawrence on Friday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. and Clarkson on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: In their last outing, the Brewers fell to Skidmore College, 97-73.
Alex Seff had an impressive game, pouring in 31 points. The last time Seff scored as many points, he notched a career-high 34 in Vassar's season-opening win against New Paltz. This time around, Seff shot 57 percent from the floor with a pair of triples, three rebounds and three steals.
A Look At The Brewers (5-16):
- Seff was named to the Liberty League Honor Roll on Monday, due to his strong performances in two games last week against Union and Skidmore. In these contests, he averaged 25 points on 58 percent shooting, five rebounds and two assists.
- Over the past two games, Tony Caletti is 5-of-7 from three – a sizzling 71 percent.
- The Brewers are shooting 42 percent from the floor and 32 percent from three, while draining an average of 7.0 triples per game. Meanwhile, opponents are shooting 47 and 39 percent, respectively, while hitting an average of 8.4 per contest.
- Vassar has dished out an average of 13.3 assists, which is the same number opponents have dished out.
- The Brewers will be looking for their first true road win when they travel to Canton, NY on Friday.
- Three Brewers are averaging double-digit scoring in Seff (15.6ppg), Jesse Browne (13.9ppg) and Mason Dyslin (10.9ppg).
- Seff also leads in assists (2.5apg) and steals (29), while also grabbing the second most rebounds on the team (4.9rpg).
- Owen Murray recently returned to the hardwood after missing more than a month with injury. Through 12 games, the freshman leads the team with 5.2 rebounds per game, while also adding 5.1 points and 2.3 assists per game. Despite missing time on the floor, Murray is third on the team in steals with 21.
- Five Vassar first-year players have contributed significantly this season. Owen Murray, Hunter Gettings, Mattie Mrlik, Kyle Kappes and Josh Brownridge have all played in at least ten games, and have started in at least one.
A Look At The Saints (17-4):
- In the first matchup between Vassar and St. Lawrence, the Saints left Poughkeepsie with a 97-79 victory. Three Brewers reached double-digit scoring in that game, led by Browne and Seff, who chalked up 18 points apiece.
- St. Lawrence has won three of its past four, most recently topping Rochester Institute of Technology, 83-74 on Saturday.
- The Saints' season has been marked by stellar offense – they've put up 84.2 points per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from three, and 75.7 percent from the line.
- Meanwhile, opponents have shot 44, 31 and 71 percent, respectively.
- The Saints have not lost at home this season, posting a 9-0 record at Ronald T. Burkman Gymnasium.
- On the season, St. Lawrence leads its opponents in almost every major stat category, edging opponents in points per game, field goals made per game, free throws made per game, rebounds per game, assists per game and points-off-turnovers per game.
- All five of St. Lawrence's starters are averaging at least 9.5 points per game, and sixth man Dom DeRegis is putting up a respectable 7.9 points per game on 45/40/82 splits off of the bench.
- Riley Naclerio has put up double figures in all but two of St. Lawrence's games this season, and is averaging a team-high 18.1 points and 7.8 rebounds on the season. He also leads the team in blocks (by a wide margin) with 27.
- The Saints finished the 2015-16 season 14-12 overall and 9-7 in conference play, including a trip to the Liberty League championship game.
Against St. Lawrence All-Time: The Brewers are 10-24 against the Saints all-time, dating back to their first meeting in 2001. Vassar last beat St. Lawrence in 2014.
A Look At The Golden Knights (11-10):
- When Vassar and Clarkson tipped off earlier this season, the Golden Knights left Poughkeepsie with a 76-60 win. Four Brewers reached double figures in the scoring column, led by freshman Hunter Gettings, who had 16 points on eight shots.
- Clarkson split its weekend competition, beating RIT 75-59 on Friday and falling to Hobart the next day, 80-56.
- Three of the Golden Knights' final games of the regular season are at home. They have a 5-5 mark at Alumni Gym, a 5-5 record on the road and a 1-0 mark at a neutral site.
- Clarkson holds a positive scoring margin of 1.3, outscoring opponents 72.5 to 71.2.
- The Golden Knights are shooting 45 percent from the floor, 33 percent from three and 69 percent from the stripe, while holding opponents to 41, 30 and 74 percent, respectively.
- Clarkson holds slight edges in rebounding (37.2 to 37.0) and assists (13.0 to 12.1).
- Three Golden Knights are averaging double-digit scoring in Derek Hart (20.9ppg), Drew Zlogar (15.6ppg) and Conrad Zampier (11.8ppg).
- Hart and Zlogar also lead in rebounds per game with 8.4 and 7.5, respectively. Zampier has grabbed the fourth-most boards with 5.3 per game.
- Liam Ellis leads the team in assists (3.4apg) and steals (28), while also adding 5.5 boards per game.

Against Clarkson All-Time: The Brewers are 12-21 against the Golden Knights all-time, dating back to their first meeting in 2001. The two slit last season, 1-1, with each team defending home-court advantage.
