POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 30, 2017) – After a decisive win over New Paltz, the Brewers will look to continue their winning streak this weekend in back-to-back league contests. Friday will see Vassar take on Ithaca College at 6pm and on Saturday the Brewers will face William Smith at 2pm.

Last Time Out: Sophomore center Sophie Nick dominated the post on Tuesday, scoring 21 points and leading the Brewers to a 75-63 win over SUNY New Paltz. Rallying behind her, the Brewer offense was crisp, shooting 62.5 percent from the field. Senior Ariella Rosenthal notched 16 points from seven attempts and junior Maeve Sussman dropped another nine. The win marks the Brewer's second straight victory and, with it, a boost of confidence as they head into the start of the conference season.
 
A Look at the Brewers (4-1):

• Vassar ranks 4^th in shots from the floor (.418), while holding opponents to .358.
• Senior Ariella Rosenthal continues to lead the Brewer offense, scoring 67 points over five games for an average of 13.4 ppg, the 8^th best in the league.
• Sophomores Sophie Nick and Isa Peczuh are second and third on the team, averaging 10.0 and 7.0 points per game, respectively.
• Rosenthal also is second in the league in total field goals made (30) and ranks 76^th nationally in the category
• Sophomore Sophie Nick currently holds the second highest free-throw percentage in the league (.909) and is ranked 55^th nationally in the category
• Junior Julia Roellke continues to lead the team on the boards, pulling down an average of 6.6 rebounds in 5 games. Roellke has led the team in rebounds for the last three games and remains just outside of the top ten list in the league.
• Vassar is averaging nine steals per game.
• Vassar is holding opponents to just 21.3% from beyond the arc, second best in the Liberty League.

 
A Look at the Bombers (4-1):

• Ithaca is offensively the most efficient team in the league, averaging 75.8 ppg and are shooting 0.442 from the field. They are currently ranked 40^th in the nation in points per game.
• They also lead the league in assists (92) with an average of 18.40 a game.
• Defensively, the Bombers are thieves, averaging 16 steals a game for a total of 80, good for first in the league and 6^th in the nation.
• Cassidy O'Malley currently leads the Bomber offense with 78%. She is shooting .564 from the field and averages 20.2 ppg.
• O'Malley also leads the league in blocked shots (10) and is 39^th in the nation in the category
• Julie Yacovoni is 3^rd in the league in boards, averaging 7.6 a game for a total of 38

Against Ithaca All-Time: The Brewers and Bombers have only encountered each other twice since 1993, with the most recent meeting occurring in 2016. Ithaca has edged out Vassar on both occasions.

• William Smith is fourth in the league in points per game (68.3) and are shooting .0.426 from the field.
• Natalia Baum leads the team in total points with 63 over 4 games, an average of 15.8 ppg good third in the league
• Baum is ranked 1^st in league and 65th in the nation in field goal percentage (.571).
• Mia Morrison is close behind her, scoring a total of 55 points over 4 games for an average of 13.8 ppg good for 7th in the league
• Morrison also ranks 38th in the nation in double doubles as well as 49th in the nation in free throws made

Against William Smith All-Time: Vassar is 34-6 all-time against the Herons dating back to their first meeting in 1996. The Brewers lost the last encounter in the series, including last year's 75-65 loss at William Smith.
