Last Time Out: Vassar put together an impressive game, but ultimately fell late to Trinity College at the Athletics & Fitness Center on Tuesday, 67-58. The Brewers shared the ball, as all-but-one player to see the floor found the bottom of the net.
Mason Dyslin and
Jesse Browne tallied 11 points apiece to pace the Brewers. Additionally,
Chris Gallivan and
Kyle Kappes were efficient from three-point range, going 2-of-2 and 2-of-3, respectively.
A Look At The Brewers (5-12):
- Vassar found energy against NESCAC opponent Trinity on Tuesday with a starting lineup that consisted of Kappes, Mattie Mrlik, Ryan Huegel, Elijah Winston and Gallivan. Prior to the game, the five of them had combined for four individual starts all season.
- Vassar had an efficient outing against Trinity, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 44 percent (6-of-11) from downtown.
- On the season, the Brewers are shooting 42 percent from the floor and 32 percent from three, taking an average of 6.9 treys per contest. Meanwhile, opponents are shooting 46 and 37 percent, respectfully, taking an average of 7.8 per game.
- The Brewers have been aggressive on defense, forcing opponents into 13.5 turnovers per game for 12.5 points.
- Vassar averages 6.8 steals per game, which is the second most swipes in the conference behind Hobart (7.0).
- Three Brewers are averaging double-digit scoring in Alex Seff (14.8ppg, 42FG%), Browne (12.6ppg, 39FG%) and Dyslin (11.5ppg, 50FG%).
- Owen Murray, who has been out with injury, is first on the team in assists per game (2.6) and steals (19). Seff and Browne are second and third on the team in assists per game, 2.4 and 2.2, respectively, and steals with 18 apiece.
- Vassar's leading scorers, Seff, Browne and Dyslin, also lead the team in rebounds per game with 5.0, 3.6 and 4.9 respectively. Murray, who hasn't played since Dec. 31, averages 4.9 boards per game.
- The Brewers have shown flashes of their sharpshooting abilities. In Vassar's win over Keuka College (Nov. 18), the Brewers drained 14 treys, which is the third most threes any Liberty League team has made this season. They also shot 61 percent from three-point range in that game, which is the highest three-point shooting clip any league team has mustered this season.
- The Brewers hope to get back to the postseason after finishing last year 12-14 overall, including a trip to the Liberty League semifinals.
A Look At The Statesmen (9-8):
- Hobart has dropped three of its past four games, most recently falling 90-74 to RIT on Tuesday. That marked the second time in as many games the Tigers had surrendered at least 90 points, falling 91-73 to St. Lawrence University on Jan. 21.
- The Statesmen look to build upon their 2015-16 campaign, in which they finished 12-13 overall and 8-8 in conference play.
- This season, Hobart has averaged 2.3 more points than opponents have, 71.5 to 69.2.

- Lucas and Lescoe pace the team in steals with 27 and 25 respective swipes.
- Matt Walsh has been aggressive on the boards, grabbing a team-leading 4.9 rebounds per game.

A Look At The Tigers (10-8):
- RIT snapped a two-game skid with a 90-74 win over Hobart on Tuesday. The game was deadlocked at 40 going into the break, but the Tigers outscored the Statesmen 50-34 in the second half to pull away.
- The Tigers look to improve upon their 2015-16 campaign, in which they finished 13-12 overall without a trip to the postseason.
- Through 18 games this season, RIT has averaged 4.7 more points, 76.6 to 71.9.
- The Tigers are shooting 43 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three, while holding opponents to 41 and 33 percent, respectively.
