POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 18, 2016) – The Vassar College field hockey team will look to keep its three-game winning streak going on Monday evening, traveling to the Garden State to take on William Paterson University in non-conference action. The Brewers will be playing only their second road game of the season on Monday, having defeated Western Connecticut State 6-0 last Wednesday evening.

Last Time Out: The Brewers continued their strong play as of late, as they toppled Ramapo College 6-0 in action Saturday afternoon from Weinberg Field. The Brewers scored four times in the opening half, two coming from junior
Storm Sideleau while
Megan Caveny and
Sabrina Stacks also tallied. Sideleau completed her hat trick in the second half, while
Emily Poehlein also tallied to finish the scoring for the Brewers.
Paige Amico and
Liz Rotolo combined for Vassar's fifth shutout of the season, as VC has allowed just two goals on the season.
A Look At The Brewers (5-1, 0-0 Liberty):
- Sophomore Alyssa More leads the team in scoring with 11 points, posting four goals while also posing three assists this season. More has started five of the six games for VC.
- Classmate Megan Caveny has helped drive the offense for Vassar, as she leads the team in shots with 44 this season. Caveny also has scored three goals and dished out three assists on the year.
- The Brewers have dominated possession in the second half this season, allowing just three penalty corners and 10 shots total in the 210 minutes of action.
- In addition, Vassar has not allowed a goal this year in the first half all season, outscoring opposition 11-0 in the opening period.
- The Brewers defense has been amazing this year, leading Division III in goals against average with a 0.40 percentage this season.
- VC also tops the Division III shutouts per game list in 2016, posting clean sheets in five of its six games this year.

A Look At the Pioneers (4-3, 0-0 NJAC)
- William Paterson is coming off a tough overtime loss to DeSales University this past weekend at home, and have dropped its last two games overall.
- WPU is 3-2 at home this year, having earned wins over Moravian College, Arcadia University and Western Connecticut State.
- Maureen Gill leads the team in goals this year with three, while Meghin Stanton has posted five points on two goals and an assist.
- Carly Satter, Michaela Meillier and Jessie Super have also scored twice for the Pioneers this season.
- Courtney Allen has dished out two assists this season, which leads the team while starting all seven games.
- Mallory Rickerhauser has started all seven games for the Pioneers, allowing eight goals while posting 27 saves over 532 minutes of action.
- Head coach Lindsay Balfour is in her 13th season with the Pioneers, having earned NJAC Coach of the Year back in 2007.
Against William Paterson All-Time: Vassar has played William Paterson 10 times before Monday's outing, with the latest coming last year in the title game of the Betty Richey Tournament. In that game, Vassar College rallied to post a 2-1 win over WPU but the Pioneers own a 2-7-1 all-time edge over the Brewers.
